    Insurance broker recommendations?

I have gotten general quotes without an n number. Just let them know you are shopping and don’t have a plane in the pipeline as it were.

    Still thinking about an RV-14

Anyone remember these days from iamtheari’s original 2017 post… long gone..:frown: What does the RV-14 do that the RV-7 doesn't, other than cost more to gain a little bit of cabin space? The dollar figures are: RV-7 kit: $23,680 XIO-360 (180hp): $28,700 Hartzell prop: $7,775 RV-14 kit...

    Still thinking about an RV-14

I thought once I retired almost 10 years ago, I would have liked to have built an RV-10, or gone for my AnP through a local tech school. Back then I looked at the Tiger I own and decided I’d rather fly than build, and work part time as a consultant. Looking back, sometimes I think I should have...

Spend my money - which autopilot?

I believe that the Aspen will act as the nav track source for the Trio. If an analog nav source is driving the Aspen, then you can use the Aspen’s analog to digital conversion, hence digital output to drive the Trio track function.

    So I bought a C182 - what now?

Until you have owned it a while and can figure out what if any improvements you want to make in it, and to see how you are ACTUALLY making use of it. Does the family like flying. To many folks get upside down almost immediately in the plane to find out in a year it is not the right hobby/thing...

Special Issuance Requirements - Utterly Confused

Dr. Chen makes a valid point. My SI is for OSA. Only thing required is a sleep study or perhaps a Wakefulness Maintenance Test. Both of which are a PITA. Coming off a Class 3 onto Basic Med requires me to weigh the odds of my personal physician or his group deciding they don’t want to do the...

Special Issuance Requirements - Utterly Confused

I have asked this before, but want to ask again because I don’t remember the answer. If you are on a SI, and allow your Class 3 medical to expire going on to Basic Med, and THEN you SI expires say 2 years latter, if you wanted to go back to Class 3 for some reason, would you need to go back...

Special Issuance Requirements - Utterly Confused

The way that works for my OSA is the SI Authorization is good till the end date. The Class 3 certificate is only good for one year. The Class 3 exam still must happen every two years. For OSA they require my usage data for the year on the off year of the exam. Then like any other Class 3 medical...

I noticed the Lock Haven sewer plant is on the walk back from Wayback Burgers. Is that a coincidence? :yikes:

FFS. I need a new hobby.

I think we need a work party at Jim’s place. But, no beer until the engine is back together! If each of us takes a cylinder, we’ll have her apart and back together in no time!

Yes, the right answer is always "Bonanza"

Congrats. I remember when that plane was for sale before going to auction. Hope you got a good pre-buy.

FFS. I need a new hobby.

“Id like to move to a Seneca in a couple years anyway. Because doubling the number of aircraft engines in my life seems like a good idea” Judging by your Avatar, seems like that works for kids as well! :) Glad to hear a way forward has emerged. :fcross:

If that was the case, I’d expect to see scoring on the shaft.

Jim…. Really sorry to hear about what’s going on. Like you said, the good news is it wasn’t why you were flying. Are those score marks I’m seeing in the last photo? Is that normal or caused by the tip of the set screw after it separated from the screw? (Just noticed Half Fast had the same thought)
