I can finally post in this thread. Got my commercial ASES this weekend at Jack Brown's (or as my wife calls it, I purchased another pilot expansion pack)

Fair enough. I don't have any friends I've already met there :biggrin: Hoping to eventually get to meet people both from here and other online forums though (or just simply convince someone to go there with me)

Plan on arriving Sunday, leave Tuesday for work. Unless work makes me just do reserve in which case I guess I'm stuck there

That's basically me. I don't own or buy parts for others. I just enjoy walking around the grounds. I went once before (2021) and at that time also visited the career fair. Unfortunately, unlike others on here, I don't have any friends to meet up with, so I just go for my own enjoyment.

With only one runway (two for the pedantic ones around), it could be a good exercise in crosswind landings :) Short flight for me and it would fill in a blank on my map

That wouldn't necessarily indicate where people live though. For example, my ISP thinks I'm in Sioux Falls, SD. And I access the site on the road on my phone. I'm no database guru, but I think a voluntary box on our profile with a (hidden) zip code entry could maybe do the trick.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I will definitely plan on going then, and just have my job fly me out of ATW or GRB instead of my normal home base. Do they sell tickets for Sunday, or is that a free for all to wander?

Sounds like an interesting discussion, and some children might need to be eaten I should try to attend one of these meet ups sometime

With your kind of flying, I'd highly recommend a second unit. As others mentioned. Having the capability to listen to numerous frequencies does you no good if the unit itself fails.

Although what you are planning is fine, it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to do the IPC first to knock off the rust. Then go out and work the system legally and proficiently.
