    Title says it all. I am a 500 hour IFR rated pilot. Looking for increased speed and ability to climb over small summer storms. Any P 210 advice would be useful. Positive or negative.

    Not really. I hold 92 gals 88 usable. So I have over 2 hrs reserve.

    I have a 182Q. Wheel fairings and flap gap seals. I average 135-140 knots. With 12 gph. I regularly fly from KBHM TO X51. Average 4.5 hours 55 to 60 gallons per trip.

    Anybody gone to KGNV (Gainesville, FL)

    I've flown in a couple of times in the past couple of months. Fairly easy. Nice FBO. Loaned me a car once and a van the next. Topped off with fuel both times. So no extra charges. Have to contact ground when ready to taxi. Not much to see and do around Gainsville.

    LOL! I am experience in the vastness and boring aspect of the glades. I fly into Homestead X51. I am tomorrow. I have a friend who is a licensed charter captain in the Everglades. He wants me to fly him around so he can plot some new fishing areas. The western shoreline is beautiful.

    Flew to KACJ a few weeks back. Checked the notams. It said runway xx closed from Zulu to Zulu. I would be arriving 2 hours after the time period. I was making a straight in for said runway. At about 800' I saw the X and trucks on the runway. Landed on the alternate runway. I asked at the FBO...

    passed my second attempt this morning. Don't have time for details. But I am pumped. Mad as hell I busted the first ride. But learned a lot that made this attempt more relaxed!

    Watch Out for a Crane at Destin (DTS)

    Destin was in my IFR X country trip. A couple of weeks ago. I had just picked up the GPS approach. My CFII said " you better raise your goggles and dodge the crane". I looked up and was amazed to find a crane directly between me and final. Had to literally fly off course and around it. Oh well...

    Congrats! Almost ready for my check ride. Those that haven't been through it don't realize what an accomplishment it is!
