FFS. I need a new hobby.

20 years as an A&P and I can see myself getting bit here. This is a mess. Getting the correct parts and being able to verify you have the correct parts should a simple task, and sometimes it is not. I just finished assembling an O320 in April, an engine that was new in 1968, the new parts...

FFS. I need a new hobby.

I read the SI... just wow. There should be actual pictures of the setscrews and warning about how to verify correct parts.

FFS. I need a new hobby.

NOW imagine that WAS NOT AN AN565 part number but some dumbass Continental or Lycoming part number like LW-12345 or STD-12345, I haven't read the SB relating to this but who would catch this screw-up?

FFS. I need a new hobby.

It is what it is. You didn't buy a new engine Can get hung up on a lot of things that don't really matter. I bought a brand new bonified Lycoming brand oil dipstick for my Lycoming O320E2D overhaul and the paint was already flaking off it when I pulled it from the package. My 20 year veteran...

    Garmin Pilot Poll

There must be a lot more to the story here. I opened this thread thinking it would be a software thing with Garmin Pilot the electronic app and it has nothing to do with that.

AOG for over a year and waiting on a conti crankshaft - Boeing has missed three "guaranteed" ship dates

That sucks. I'm guessing there are no PMA crankshaft for that engine either. I'd start calling other shops and try continental directly, might spend a few hours on the phone for nothing or strike gold.

    Change my mind

Life rafts do not belong in the empty weight of the aircraft and operations need to be responsible for them being removed or installed and all associated Weight & Balance tracking.

    Why would avionics backlighting pulse?

Could be charging system related, I wouldn't bother.

    Can I use a 20a toggle switch?

If the normal running load plus a downstream overload trips the 20 amp CB switch disconnecting all the equipment at the same time rather than tripping the faulty circuit I'd say nope. I'm no EE, but to me the avionics bus should be bussed through a CB switch near the rated capacity of the...

    Continental O-470 proper throttle connection.

Looks wrong to me. The washer under the nut should be tight on the wire, and the wire needs bent into a hook to prevent it from being pulled out of the bolt if it slips
