54 knot CAS MOSAIC requirement, and only that. :)

It’s the TC specs, not whatever your airspeed indicator may or may not be marked or whatever mods you think of.

Pa32 lands in pits at Pomona dragstrip

    Really mushed it in. Lucky.

    Mesa AZ incident.

I think that the past tapes have demonstrated that a tower has closed the field immediately after an incident. That is well within their authority to manage workloads. Airport managers don’t manage ATC ops.

Woman Backs Into Propeller, Kansas, fatal, 10/27

I yell it even when handpropping.

    Mesa AZ incident.

Listen to ATC. He had a fire off the end of the runway where he had just cleared the jet to depart and then cleared a plane to take off into the column of smoke before he caught on there was a crash. And still didn’t close the field. Retraining will be needed! Regardless of the crash, the...

GRYDER WINS - $1.2M Defamation Case Reversed

Comments about flying, airplanes and such are fair game. Pilot training and experience too. But personal life details are very subjective and easily twisted, so that is a line that needs tiptoeing. Dan ran right through it like a linebacker.

Tach to Hobbs conversion for logging

A wristwatch and moving the plane a bit while it warms up is so easy I question the overthinking on the thread. Hobbs and tach only work for the dollars on the rental. You can even use a video to document wheels move/wheels stop.

    Desser v VSE

Nothing like throwing away a brand name that you built up loyalty toward, to use an impersonal corporate set of letters. Not too smart. At the very least they could have kept it as a division name for marketing.

Chuck Coleman Crash - Las Cruces

I was thinking something that lacked enough energy to fully turn over, which turned into perhaps an unexpected inverted spin entry and attempt at recovery. A Lomcovak or some sort of tumble or turn round the yaw axis, but I think the intent would be more of a snap type maneuver. The whole...

Chuck Coleman Crash - Las Cruces

Sad to see this. I would appear that he fell out of the last routine, it wasn't crisp, too low for recovery. Horrible tragedy.

    Eviation redesigned Alice

From that first prototype they showed around which was laughable in the lack of practical aviation good sense, to the second short taxi trials at AWO, to dismantling it trucking it to out of sight Eastern Washington, to a very, very short hop around the pattern at Moses Lake to keep investors...

    Fokker down Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome

Will honor by not speculating, but for accurate reporting, AVWEB had a confused sentence ("the monoplane caught fire and crashed") that implies fire, then crash into the trees. I think the first reports were crash, then fire.

Fatal Crash at First Flight, 9/28

Concerning the out of trim full power go around: Never do anything fast in an airplane, as in rushing things. In normal situations, where most crashes happen. Gentle works.

"Do you know what happens when you mix baking soda with vinegar? It vigorously foams and creates a neutral salt solution--negating the acidity of the vinegar and the alkali of the baking soda. Use one or the other. I'd start with baking soda." Ooops, typing too fast and changing my thinking...
