So aerospace was not able to clear the lien as there was no clear successor when the bank was dissolved with the state. A quiet title action is probably the way to clear it but is about $4k and at least two months. I'll have to look into title insurance. Not quite sure how that works or...

For this one they had all new bearings, seals, honed cylinders, piston rings, so probably closer to an overhaul. I'll be doing a borescope for sure to check cylinder condition.

I'm looking at buying a plane, O-320, but I think they broke in their engine after an IRAN with Philips multi weight rather than straight weight or mineral oil. How big a deal is that? I think they have about a 100 hours on it now. Would any issues have surfaced or is this a non-issue?

Any suggestions for brokers? I figured Avemco is worst case cost wise, so if I can stomach that I'll hopefully end up a little better.

The rates you have that don't seem to far off from Avemco. Other taildraggers (Citabrias, PA12) we're about $2k for similar hull.
