    Outdoor Aircraft Storage

The best idea I've seen used is to buy some car wash sponges and leave them in the plastic wrapper. You can used them in a pinch as cowl plugs, or to plug gaps between the tail cone and stab. The clear plastic wrap will still be on them, so they won't get soggy. The sponges are soft enough...

    Beech skipper auto pilot

The Garmin autopilot is approved for the Beech Musketeer line. You have to check to see whether that extends to the Skipper.

    1963 C182F can't find a gauge for 32.5 gallon tanks

I have a 182E and replaced the senders with a CiES. This was part of an engine monitor install, and I don't think the digital sender would drive the original analogue gauges.

Buy Me Some Peanuts And Cracker Jacks

If you happen to get the hot dog and not pay, do you think that the vendor would think you owe him a debt? Or just think that you breached a contract with him?

It was. They recently updated it to "Yesterday's technology tomorrow."

I think it's time to quit Hertz

Every now and then I do something smart. Not often, but enough to keep life interesting. I rented a car for Oshkosh last year. I picked it up at KMKE parking garage, which is dark and dingy. On a whim, I decided to photograph every paint chip on the outside. The outside was remarkably clean...

Oil - who is using what

I learned today that the Phillips Victory oil is not recommended for Continental engines. Something about the Lycoming additive having an adverse effect on the starter adapters.

GNS430W no comm transmit problem...no audio & "tx"

That was my plan, too. If you have a Garmin AP, note that Big Gee has not listed Avidyne as a compatible navigator to hook to the AP. I've been 'round and 'round about this, yes, it's the G5's driving the AP and you could actually turn the navigator off and things would work just fine, but...

Musketeer at Ryan airfield (RYN) Tucson AZ

Another vote here for Beech Aero Club. There are some things with Musketeers that you should look out for. They are well-built and highly durable planes, but there are some weak spots. If it is prepped for paint and annual you may be far along in the purchase process, but it never hurts to check.

How much time to pull the wings off C182/185/210 aircraft?

Cessnas are fast and easy. A friend does painting. He can take a 172 or 182 and get the wings and stab off in a jiffy. I don't know exactly how long, but he's fast.

For Sale Please Note, I have NOTHING for sale

I think I know this guy. I almost bought something from him on Barnstormers, I think a FlightStream. I called the guy and he seemed to be pretty familiar with aviation, and satisfactory explanations. As noted, he spoke English well but with a slight accent. He wanted me to send money to, I...
