    Cheap hangar-based radio

Here's one...I've had one of these for several years with no problems. https://www.sportys.com/pilotshop/sporty-s-air-scan.html

Imagine Star Trek is real....(government jurisdiction)

Fascinating...I'm assuming the OP lives on this planet that has countless governments making their own rules. Anyone who has circumnavigated the globe will invariably talk of all the various restrictions and beauracracy they encountered almost daily. Seems a bit much to think that all (aligned)...

G3X over the dual G5....what value?

I'd prefer the G3X over the dual G5s. Size, clarity and functionality. I'd still like to see a higher screen vs plastic percentage (not as bad on the 10"). The G3X was really an upgraded 696 that panel mounted. It could probably use an external redesign.

Anyone do the new Aspen E5 ?

I had an E5 installed for pretty much the same price as dual G5s. Some shops have an agenda on the products that THEY want to install and jack the price on others. For the OP---it's a great unit, much brighter, clearer and larger display than the G5s

    Enforce logbook entry

Hmmm..OP posted as a guest, prop hit a pole that maybe reduced RPM and has a "little damage". Dressing the prop is going to hide this? He also somehow knows exactly what the diabolical owner did and is going to do. Is this prop, metal, wood or composite? Going by the stated "facts" is what's...

autopilot for a C-172 RG Cutlass

The below is from Beechtalk and the install was on a Bonanza. A few months ago I had the TruTrak installed in an Archer II at Saint Aviation. Very happy with service, price as well as the TT. "GFC 500, flush mounted G5's, three GMA Smart servos and associated breakers, etc. A/P, G5's and...

    Adding an inclinometer

I think if it's just an add-on with no removals that's it's allowed with an IA signoff and 337. Regular needle/ball was a common option on Champs so I would guess they are on the type certificate.

How about something like this: https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/inpages/beliteinclinometerbezel.php Hopefully this will let him know when he's "inclined" to go flying :)

The truth of being maried w/ kids exposed....

Got re-married when I was 40 (wife 28)..I had a 17 year old I raised myself and new wife wanted kids. Working 2 intense jobs, I was so-so on doing a do-over but eventually I conceded and we had one boy 2 years later and one girl 10 years later. Found myself retired at age 50 with a one year...

autopilot for a C-172 RG Cutlass

You don't see too many advertised install prices but one shop in LA. quotes $10,500, Saint Aviation in Dunelleon Fl. would probably give you a better price. (base price is 7K for the unit which is almost what you can get the TT installed for)..Not 100% sure the RG is in the AML, it does show the...

    KX 155 Issues

I had similar issue with KX155 and electrical contact cleaner solved the problem. You can spray good electrical contact cleaners directly on both the radio and tray contacts. I would also wet a long Q-tip on a stick and brush the contacts lightly...

    Decalin for Non-Rotax?

It's a cheaper product that doesn't use as much TCP or solvents. The lack of solvents allows you to carry it in the plane and not worry about spills. The value is similar if you compare cost, usage and effectiveness to TCP. They do work. If you use it consistently you'll get much less lead build...
