    Life Insurance at the Airport

I never realized how many 727 crashes there were. I pulled the list from Wikipedia as you suggested and plotted them from 1965 to 1990 (I like a visual representation). Each blue dot is an accident (and I removed hijackings, bombings, and being shot down by a military):

When are we getting rid of 100LL?

You're probably right -- the story was 8 years ago I think, so the breakdown may not be valid anymore. But I still thought it was interesting fact.

When are we getting rid of 100LL?

There was an AOPA story a while ago that said 70% of general aviation aircraft could run on auto gas, but the 30% of aircraft with higher performance engines that needs the higher octane provided by the TEL also consume 70% of the 100LL. It also said the oil industry refines more auto gas in a...

Will MSFS ever be more than a toy?

Motion systems for commercial aircraft only have 25 to 30 deg of excursion in roll/pitch/yaw, but the motion system operation can be a little counter-intuitive. It's not replicating that actual roll angle, but trying to replicate the G-force, so in the case of an 1-G barrel roll, the motion...

    [NA] sam's club or Costco

The gas discount and a couple of grocery items (olive oil, bacon, etc) pays for the Costco membership, so anything else I buy, I'm ahead.

    Trump and AF1

(No politics) I saw a headline that Trump is planning on doing a TV event or something from Air Force One during Biden's inauguration. Would AF1's call sign change as soon as Biden takes the oath of office? That would be interesting if AF1 was in the air when it happened -- I wonder if they...

    COVID Vaccine (2)

Can I ask what motivated you to be a test subject? I'm glad that people do, but I'm not sure if I'd volunteer for it. Was this testing just for the efficacy of the vaccine to prevent Covid or was it also testing safety in humans?

    Airport traffic tracks

Is there a site that will show you the tracks (from radar or ADS-B) of all the traffic at an airport for a given time period? I looked at FlightAware and FlightRadar24 and they have lists of flights (tail #, destination, etc), but I'm more interested in the actual ground track? Something like...

NA - Training a dog not to bark

My sister tried one of those on her non stop barking dog in her small apartment (the dog barks at strangers, people it knows, toys, dogs, cats, when there is nothing around...). The collar didn't stop it, she said she finally took it off when the cloud of citronella was making it hard to breath...

Medical Insurance in the event of an aviation accident

I'm not sure, but I would assume it's like the medical limits in your car policy, it doesn't cover you, just the people you injure (liability).

Medical Insurance in the event of an aviation accident

Wow, I knew some life insurance excluded flying from policy coverage, but I never knew medical insurance did that. Is this a group policy from an employer? I guess I should read all that fine print...

Sherry? That sounds way too complicated. Beef Stroganoff has exactly 2 ingredients, a pound of ground beef and a box of Hamburger Helper.

    [NA] Colorado newspapers

I'm not sure if one is more controversial, but the Aspen Times is part of a newspaper group the has a paper in a lot of the mountain towns: Aspen, Vail, Summit County (Breckenridge, Keystone, Copper Mountain, Frisco), Glenwood Springs, Steamboat, Winter Park, and probably some others. The Aspen...

    It's an appliance trifecta

I don't get why they have WiFi anyway? I have to go move the clothes from the washer to dryer, why do I need to remote start it? I guess then Samsung can know how many loads of laundry I do haha.

    [NA]Norway [NA]

Just a warning, don't count on actually flying on a Norwegian 787. They've had problems with their RR engines and have been wet leasing old 777s, A340s, and 747s from companies like Wamos, HiFly, and Privilege Air to cover routes.
