I May Just Have to Buy an iPhone Now

There is no right to privacy in the constitution. The SCOTUS in Griswold v Connecticut ruled that the "spirit" of the first, third, fourth, firth, ninth amendment (all incorporated by the 14th ) protects a person's right to privacy (later used in Roe v Wade) but the right to privacy is not in...

    Ffffffff airline travel... Seriously.

I've really only had one bad airline flight. London to Toronto on Air Canada and they changed my seat from a window seat (awesome) to a middle seat in the middle of a 3-4-3 777 (awful). The meal was horrid even by economy standards and the flight was late. I usually fly United internationally...

    The Anti-Booze thread

I like a variety...Water, Vitamin Water Zero, Original blend Dunkin' Donuts coffee (hate Starbucks), milk, and an occasional Coke.

    Another Cirrus down in Ohio

Very sad to see this. From article... “looked right at the plane. It was close enough to see the engine. The plane was pointed down and sideways. The left wing was down and the right wing was up.” No mention of chute leads me to think this may be a stall->spin and maybe no time or not...

    PPL Training: DA-20 or DA-40

The 20 will be cheaper and if he/she fits I'd go with that and save some money. I've never flown a 20 but have flown a 40 a little bit and thought it was very nice but overkill for PPL training IMO. ***edit: just saw "cost is not a factor"*** In that case have them fly both and go from there.

    Landing Long

Use them as a guide but learn to gauge your approach visually. I use 55-60kts over the number in the 172 and it looks like you are certainly too high but that may be the camera angle. Being too high will lead to you being too fast so start with working on the approach and the landings will...

Found my lost dog on Craigslist

Great you were able to get her back so quickly. All three times my dog has gotten out he has been one house down just sniffing around. Not very adventurous I guess.

    Threat to aviation, please help

And talk about biting the hand that feeds you.... More taxes=more expensive=less GA pilots=less new airline pilots.

    Multiple CFIs

If you like your current instructor and feel comfortable flying solo to meet him I would do that. Like you said, changing instructors can mean repeating some of what you've already done and it sounds like you want to move forward quickly. 6 weeks seems plenty fast going from first solo to check...

Not sure whether to say good job or what?

No damage to the plane or anyone in it or on the ground seems like a good outcome to me. Of course we will have to see if it was a mechanical issue with the carb heat not working or just a forgetting to turn it on.

    Sign-In Sheet

I don't see an issue with signing in if the desk is unattended. May also eliminate costly miscommunications when it comes to moving aircraft.
