Best career to justify owning your own plane?

In the West Wing one of the candidates flew a King Air around during the campaign. That's almost the same thing right ;)

Switch from SR22 to 172 for IFR Training?

Why is the Cirrus trim so difficult? Is it an issue on all Cirri or something with yours that you could have fixed before doing IR in it?

    The Continental United States

Yes. Talk about product placement. Maybe we would have nicer winters with the Lycoming United States since they deal with carb ice better ;)

Outside Magazine article about the IconA5

It's not the plane I have a problem with. It's the idiot who wrote that article. Based on his "plummet to earth" take on the Cessna I'll take his opinion of the A5 with a grain of salt.

    Watch recommendation

Maybe check out this G-shock line. Not sure if this is the type of gps function you're looking for but they are certainly waterproof and practically indestructible. http://world.g-shock.com/asia-mea/en/products/gravitymaster/hybrid/

I Just Ordered 32 GB of RAM

I have a Thinkpad X1 Carbon with an i7 8gb of ram and an SSD and it boots up and runs really, really fast. I've only had it for a week and I don't think I could go back to my old computer with a standard hard drive.

    Ever bounce a night landing?

Never bounced at night probably because I don't fly very often at night except for currency and long XCs. Last night landing was coming back from Indy in Jan. with a friend and three puppies and the landing light was working fine in Indy but wouldn't come on during approach, luckily the taxi...

    Fltplan vs Foreflight

I like, and use, both the website (great for planning) and the app on my android tablet as a cheap EFB in the plane. It's free, it works, I've got no complaints.

A20 or Zulu2...not another one of these!

I love my Zulu 2s. Never tried the A20s though.

    Someone fess up...

What a tool. I'm sure the ensuing phone call would be a treat to listen to as well. But seriously there's something to be said for the entertainment value of this type of situation. Once on an XC someone had busted a Charlie and then proceeded to argue with ATC about it. I almost didn't want to...

    Crazy year

You know it gets plenty hot here in Cbus in the summer, humid too. We just get the summer weather of GA and the winter weather of NY. Worst of both.

is your head in the cockpit

 Eyes outside, standard pattern entry, and correct pattern altitude is more important to reducing potential conflicts IMO. A guy flying an entry on base, for example, with his eyes glued to an ipad/gps/insert distraction here is a much bigger liability, radios or not, than a guy...

    How far is your hangar?

15 minutes to the club planes.

    Samsung Pay - Game Changer

Does Samsung Pay work with the chip reader terminals? I have a Note 5 and may give it a try. Also why do the chip terminals take so long to use? I was at target yesterday and it took maybe 15-30 seconds from when it told me to put the card until it was ok to remove. The swipe seemed faster...

    Soooo.... prop strike....

I would. Someone should at least check it out before someone else flies it.

Guess who got to go to the Tower!

Tower visits are always a lot of fun. My first visit pre-solo a plane ran off the runway while I was up there so it cool to see the process after something like that happens.
