    Tug question....again!

Good advice...but, been there, done that, with the C182 for years. I'm now 76 and gratefully still flying and the C172 is my "for life" plane. Lunch with a bunch of buddies is my norm now. No more hauling family around.

Not cheap, but "cheaper" options. Good luck...

Little Star V Thrust Tug - Dewalt drill powered

Thanks. I just ordered a 998 from Amazon and hope it fits in the collar. Thanks for the explanation

Little Star V Thrust Tug - Dewalt drill powered

I have one of these and the same battery issue. It sounds like the 998 drill is an easy solution if it fits in the bracket. If not, I don't think I am as "handy" as you appear to be. You talked about a "cleaned up" version. Do you have that and maybe a parts list? I don't need the light...

Little Star V Thrust Tug - Dewalt drill powered

Are you saying the DeWalt 998 fits okay? Wow if so, and thanks

Little Star V Thrust Tug - Dewalt drill powered

Wow, great post. I thought I was the only one in the world who still had one of these. Great tug, but as others have said, DeWalt discontinued the drill AND the batteries. I tried the generic replacements (China) and they just didn't have the power to go over my hangar door floor rails. Has...

    Tug question....again!

Need a tug for my C172. Door track just too hard to get over. I know Best Tugs seem to be the favorite, but pretty pricy. I am down to the AeroTow T1 and the MiniMax. Past posts show folks taking about one or the other, but no real reviews. Any history with either of these and would you do...

    GTN 750 SD Card contacts

Had the same issue. I bought a pack of credit card reader cleaners. I cut them to fit the SD card, spray electronics cleaner on them and insert into the slot. Move it back and forth to clean. I fold it in half and put the folded side into the reader to apply a little pressure to clean. Seems...

    GFC 500 question

I need to dig more. Been watching videos and reading and can’t find where the G5 “says” pitch up or down. Assume you mean on the screen, but can’t find a reference to it.

    GFC 500 question

It was $5k to add the trim. Had been looking at AeroCruze and Trio. Price was a reasonable differemce until I added trim..then it moved much higher

    Autopilot comparison chart

Did you get autotrim on your 550? I was at the same place..the cost difference between either AeroCruze and Trio was close enough. Then someone said you need to also add auto track and it added another $5k. Not sure how you get trim need feedback from the 550 where the other two give you...

    Trio Autopilot in Cessna 172

I finally got over the 550 cost…wife said, just do it. Then I got to the question of auto trim and it added another $5k. Just struggling with spending that much money on a 172 that I paid $60k for. I’m mostly VFR or very lite IFR. I have an STec20 for the lateral mode. Really just looking for...

    Aerocruze 100/TruTrak Question

Going back and forth between the AeroCruze and the Trio ProPilot. Love the Garmin, but really don’t need all of that for my use. Seems I find an equal number of people who like or dislike one or the other. How did you make your decision and are you still happy? Thanks EDIT....ended up getting...

    GFC 500 question

Autopilot question. For my use the 550 is a stretch and I wasn’t planning on adding the auto trim. I have dual G5’s and GTN750. My question was, how do you handle the manual trim? Someone posted that the G5 annunciation does it. Didn’t understand how this works or what it looks like. I had...

    Trio Autopilot in Cessna 172

Thanks. Yea, I know the GNC is a better AP, but am trying to match me need to the price. I have an STec20 that works fine, but no alt hold. I have two G'kids starting lessons in the plane and like the recover, 180 turn and bank correction features. I'm old :-) I was taught by an ex AF...

    Trio Autopilot in Cessna 172

Curious how it went. I’m going back and forth between the BK AeroCruze and the Trio. 172M with a GTN750 and dual G5’s. Have heard folks who love/hate either. Hope yours is doing well. How many hours on the install? Thanks

    Run up area

Question. Other day I was departing an airport with a control tower that I seldom use. Taxied to the runup area. At my home airport (uncontrolled) the normal practice is to taxi in front of the runup area and then circle into the area and line up facing the runway with your aircraft closest...
