Piper Arrow II for sale - $47,500 obo

Thanks Smooth Talker.... It has been a really good plane, but our club wants to upgrade to something more modern to attract new members and needs to sell her to fund the purchase. I've flown this plane all over the country, into Airventure, and on some memorable trips. Is it sad that...

Feedback on QBE or AIG insurance

I have recently been elected to the board of my flight club. The new board has decided to look over our operations to make sure we are operating efficiently. As part of this, we had a broker quote our insurance policy with several companies. We have been with Avemco for quite some time, but...

    Old log book discrepancies

Thank you everyone for your help. We have an overhauled engine waiting to go in the plane, but the old one is running like a champ and there is no use in wasting 100 hours worth of time on the engine due to an error.

    Old log book discrepancies

Hi there.... I am the new maintenance officer of a flight club and have a question regarding log book discrepancies. My club's Archer is equipped with ECI cylinders that require replacement at 2000 total hours due to an AD. When I subtract my current tach time from the time of the last...

GTN650 Install: Anyone Done one recently?

My club replaced a GNS-430 with a GTN-650 and the total labor cost was $1000. Six months later we replaced a KLN-94 with a GTN-650 and that cost us $3700 due to the additional radio work and indicator installation. The amount of work required for your particular install will have a huge...

    FS: Hartzell HC-C2YK-1BF/F7666A-2 Prop

My flight club has overhauled the engine in our Arrow II and decided to replace the prop at the same time to terminate the 100 hour prop hub inspections. We are selling our used HC-C2YK-1BF/F7666A-2. The prop was last overhauled in 2004. It is in decent working condition and has no serious...

Any feedback on 2-blade scimitar for Arrow?

As a matter of fact, it IS Prescott Flying Club. Unfortunately we are a three plane club for a little while, but should be in really good shape once we get that plane back with a new factory overhaul. I just wish the engine would have held out another month to get us out of the busy season.

Any feedback on 2-blade scimitar for Arrow?

It is time for an overhaul of the IO-360 in my flight club's Piper Arrow II. While this is going on, we are looking into a prop replacement. The current prop is due for an overhaul based on calendar time and is starting to sling a very small amount of oil. It also has the 100 hour hub AD that...

When Did the 737 Become Transcontinental Aircraft?

About 4 years ago, I flew in an Alaska Airlines 737 from Seattle to Honolulu. Skyvector shows this trip at 2300+ miles! I'm sure we were running on empty by the time we got there. Alaska still some of the best service around in First Class. Nice trip, just a smaller-than-expected plane...

Question regarding failures of ILS equipment

I said that wrong. I was left of course and it was indicating for me to correct left (until the flag flashed up). Thanks for all your posts on this forum. Good info for us others.

Question regarding failures of ILS equipment

I agree with your comment. I am glad that I was able to learn this lesson and still be here to seek advice about what happened. I expressed my concern to my instructor about 5 miles before the faf and we did not descend from there. I should have gone with my gut though when we weren't 100%...

Question regarding failures of ILS equipment

I think you hit it on the head. The airport was KSTC http://www.airnav.com/airport/KSTC Upon further review, they DO have the same frequency for the localizers for runways 13 and 31. If I could listen to the morse code again, I'm sure I would hear the STC identifier for runway 31 instead of...

Question regarding failures of ILS equipment

I posted this on another forum, but thought I would re-post here to see if anyone has any other ideas: I am an IFR student and experienced something unexpected today on an ILS approach and would like to learn more about what happened. Long story short, when identifying the localizer, the...

Attitude indicator failures on fresh overhauls?

Quick question for you guys..... I had a Piper Arrow that was on the ground for about a month for an avionics upgrade and then an annual inspection. After the annual, the attitude indicator decided that it would intermittently indicate a climbing left turn while in level flight. The suction...
