    Is a medical even possible?

That depends on your finances. It ended up costing me about $8,000 and I still haven't received a decision yet.

    Is a medical even possible?

You'll have to PROVE that adhd won't affect your abilities to operate an aircraft safely. In all likelihood, you'll be required to see a HIMS psychiatrist and upon passing THAT evaluation, you'll probably be sent to see a HIMS neuropsychologist for another evaluation which will include the...

Anxiety & depression history leading to medical issues

Start collecting all the medical records you can find (including all your pharmacy records) if there's anything questionable in there, track down a good HIMS AME. If they don't exist, get a statement from your physician's records department/office that your records no longer exist.

Cogscreen - If all pilots had to take it, how many would pass?

I went through the neuropsychological evaluation (cog screen) back in December and the buildup was stressful to say the least. The doctor told me not to be discouraged if I have to stay all day as only about 30% pass the initial battery. After 5 hours of running the gauntlet, the...

    HIMS Review Timeline

That's not the "flip side" to my comment. I'm not saying they're all certifiable, I'm very familiar with the HIMS SI process..TOO familiar with it. I merely commented that the speed in which the process moves is TOO SLOW.

    HIMS Review Timeline

No, the alternative is streamlining the decision making process. I'm not saying we need addicts in the cockpit, I'm saying that bloated bureaucracy needs to be faster at processing the information.

    Sleep apnea compliance report

That's the frustrating part. I've gotten used to sleeping with the mask on, only to find out in the morning that my central apneas were up partying all night

    Sleep apnea compliance report

For clarification, I wasn't prescribed cpap 8 years ago because my AHI was below the threshold and was considered mild. Fast forward 8 years, after telling my AME about it, he advised having it rechecked so we could rule it out for the FAA. I was confident my mild apnea was resolved due to the...

    Sleep apnea compliance report

Thanks Dr. Chien, I upload my data to Oscar already. I just needed some clarification on the exact criteria. I've had 2 sleep studies done. The first was about 8 years ago when I was eating horribly and not exercising and it indicated an AHI of 3. Since then, I've lost 30 lbs, cleaned up my...

    Sleep apnea compliance report

Good find. From what I gather, I would be in Group 2 and would need to complete Specification Sheet A which makes no mention of AHI. You're right, it seems dependant on what the treating physician deems "effective"

    Sleep apnea compliance report

Thank you. I've been working with apneaboard.com and they've been able to help get my numbers down to where they're currently at. The Treatment Emergent Central apneas are the culprit right now, even though they're on a SLOW downward trend, they keep hanging around, keeping my AHI dangerously...

    Sleep apnea compliance report

My concern at this point is the AHI compliance requirements. The 6+ hours per night is no problem but my AHI is still hovering just under 5, occasionally rising above. Does the FAA look at both numbers equally or are they more concerned with the usage time?
