    AN-225 in Wichita

What they ARE is a question for someone much much smarter than me (Tony?)! All I know is what they aren't. :D Helpful, right?

    IFR Hays to Wheeler Downtown

Ahh. Well then. Disregard my last. Apparently I need to brush up on my '80s TV trivia. Carry on.

    IFR Hays to Wheeler Downtown

Are you in any way related to a Mike Shumway?

Ratio of Number of landings to hours flown?

I was gonna say, I don't think the hours:landings are the important ratio. So long as your landings:takeoffs ratio is pretty damn close to 1:1, you're doing it right. For me: .49 landings/hr. I suspect that was a much much higher number back in my training/1900 days.

    Post your IMC photos

I don't know if an Iceman with bad aim counts. :D I have wayyyy too many pictures to post. How's this:

    IFR Hays to Wheeler Downtown

Been there several times. IFR into towered airports is, in my opinion, considerably easier than into non-towered airports! MKC is a great little airport. If they're in northbound flow (ILS or VIS 1) you fly right by downtown, well below the hill on which the buildings and I-35 sit. It's a...

What I use for audio recording: Bought here, with the mic stuck under my Zulu headset recorded onto: And the anti-blur lens (actually just an ND filter to slow the shutter):

Yep. Only differences, really, are the NFlight adds the GPS, the audio patch cable, and the lens filter for shooting through the prop (which you can buy separately anyways). Oh yeah, and it adds a lot of monies to the cost. I looked at the NFlight. Then I saw the price, choked on my...

Colorado Pilots - Wed March 28

"Cleared to 8,000." "Line up, runway zero six right." "Call arrivals now on 119 decimal 75." "Contact departure when airborne, cleared for takeoff." I do love how Canadian customs never really seems to care that we're there. "Oh you've landed, eh? Ok, here's your number, yeah. Good day...

April 14, Denver, CO -- Take An Aggie To Dinner Night

Duffy's Cherry Cricket in Cherry Creek is good too. Still no smoking, though.

 I was going to guess Minnesnowta. I often make fun of my wife for being from extreme southern Canada (she grew up in MSP).

Yes we do! But it's the Pasta Rocket, thank you. Unfortunately this time I was in the back of an aluminum mailing tube...Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to Flight Safety I go.

Colorado Pilots - Wed March 28

I'd love to, but you'd have to come to south Florida to pick me up. I know how you love long cross countries and all, but that might be a little far. :)

Bewahaha. Happy to help! The Contour (mine is actually the "Roam," not the "HD") in 720P widescreen captures a surprisingly large frame width (170 degrees is a lot wider than you think). I mounted it on the back window of my car looking forward, and there wasn't a single inch of the...

ME-262. My stupid computer has been starting to ignore keystrokes recently. And I suck at proof reading. Just ask any of my teachers...ever.

Colorado Pilots: Saturday 24 Mar 2012

Nice picture! I forgot to get a picture of the planes sitting together. It was great to (finally) meet you and...umm...Murphey? :D It had...food. It was good food. Not great food. I ate the food. The service left something to be desired. I'd eat the food again. Don't know that I'd go...

Vurginia Beach museum of military aviation

It is. The Virginia Beach Airport, it's called. 5,000 feet of fairly well maintained grass. I have, on several occasions, seen private aircraft land there. I'm pretty sure for their bigger events they open it up, but I have to imagine if you call and ask, they'd let you land there any time. The...
