No Room at the Inn for AA Pilots and Flight Attendants

I find I get better sleep at work in the airline hotels than I do at home. Many fewer distractions, no work to feel like I should be doing. Sometimes going to work is like going on vacation from work at home.

More information on Beebo Russell, who stole the Q400

Exactly. I can count on one hand the number of times I've had a CRJ-200 totally topped off on fuel, in almost 6 years of flying them, zero. We can't even top off the wing tanks most of the time, with a full boat of passengers and a flight of less than 90 minutes.

    “You Can’t Terminate FF”

    I agree, anytime I go into TYS, it's a ****show. And that's in a 121 airplane...

Do you check for bullet holes in your preflight?

It usually took a week or two for the holes to become obvious based on lift tracking when did when I flew blimps. By then, you had no idea where it came from. The UK MoD did a test back in the 80s or 90s on a blimp with a Royal Marine detachment shooting it with service weapons. Even with them...

    Thought about an old tractor

I spent the better part of the afternoon & evening pulling the cylinder head on my Ferguson TO-30. I had a hunch the head gasket was going/gone, so I thought I'd run it a bit last week to see what was up. No more than 10 minutes of loaded running and the coolant was milkshake. Head gasket...

    Thought about an old tractor

MDs are neat tractors. There's a farm youtuber who is in the process of restoring one, if you're interested, the channel is called Just a Few Acres Farm. I finally ordered the parts I "think" I need to fix my TO-30, at least short term, without tearing the motor apart. I really really hope its...

    Thought about an old tractor

Looks good, you sure didn't waste any time tearing into things. If I had half that motivation, I wouldn't have 3 in the barn that all need some sort of work. Out of curiosity, what kind of paint setup did you run?

    New Airline

Silver isn't a new airline, it was simply a re-brand of Gulfstream International... What regional has started since 2007?

Thinking about a Hot Air Balloon

I mean, it was fun for a time, but not very long. It was a means to an end, it wasn't a job you could have a family with, at least where I worked. It would be fun to do a couple weekends a year, but not as a daily job.

Thinking about a Hot Air Balloon

I did work for an airship company. Thankfully, it was a few years ago, and I'm not doing it anymore.

Thinking about a Hot Air Balloon

I found the same thing to be true when I started my airship training. Nothing I knew about airplanes really transferred over, other than starting the engines.

    Rental Cars & Reservations...

Some airline terminal restaurants are adding a 3-4% COVID "fee". Must be nice to have a virtual monopoly.

    Thought about an old tractor

Craigslist. Get an old Ford, they're a dime a dozen and generally easy to find.

    Thought about an old tractor

Not sure what year it is, but it does run, eventually, after you crank it enough. It's got something wrong with it, as a year or two ago, it would start in the winter after 1-2 seconds of cranking, no pre-heat or anything. Now, I have a radiator line pre-heater, a space heater on the oil pan...

    Thought about an old tractor

My biggest issue is, I don't think it would run at all if there was an issue with the valve being stuck closed. It runs, just takes forever to get started, to the point that you have to have the battery charger on it to just get it started. I personally think it's got a compression issue of some...

    Thought about an old tractor

Funny you post that, I know that I accidentally did that a few times before I started having issues with my MF150. I really hope that I don't have an injector pump issue, but it's honestly not out of the question.

    Thought about an old tractor

I've got a Ferguson TO-30 (gas), a Massey Ferguson 150 (diesel), and a Massey Ferguson 205 (diesel). All 3 have some sort of stuff that need done to them, but I'm in the 3 of them way less than I would be a small 20 hp sub-compact of any flavor today. Easiest job is probably the MF205, needs a...

CNBC - What Happened To Blimps?

The most “affordable” option is a hot air airship, but they’re not cheap. Plus at a minimum you’re going to need 3 or 4 friends to help you with the thing on the ground

CNBC - What Happened To Blimps?

Exactly, I’ve picked up pieces of one that got hit by a thunderstorm at night on the mooring and I’ve helped ferry one that had a landing incident. They’re huge liabilities

CNBC - What Happened To Blimps?
