    Debonair down at TEX

Personal minimums isn't "below minimums" then. 2 different people said the phrase below minimums, that would imply some violation. In 135 we do have departure minimums, and that means we can theoretically depart below mins. I don't remember there being part 91 mins.

    Debonair down at TEX

I am curious why you guys are saying departed below minimums, refresh me on part 91 single engine departure mins again? Been in and out of TEX a few times in the Lear, there is plenty of valley right off of TEX when departing. MTJ is right around the corner, what a shame.

    FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit

Where? We go all over the world, and regularly to Canada and Mexico and I have never had to renew and ATP (which doesn't expire) nor renew an FCC radio license.

Can we put the myth that singles are as safe as twins to bed now?

Well, I would say part 25 twins are safer than singles... I was just as nervous flying over the mountains in a Seminole as I was a 182. Actually more when you add the undesirable characteristics that go along with flying a part 23 twin on one engine adds to an already dire emergency. But in the...

Why don't they make Kit "Cessna 172s"?

The only real practical use for a 172 today is to train, and or rent with. It isn't a go places airplane, it isn't modern, it isn't fast, it isn't efficient, it doesn't fly high, and it isn't very capable.

Why don't they make Kit "Cessna 172s"?

Why in the hell would you want to build an underpowered, 60 year old design with no real capability for anything, then limit by having it be experimental and not LSA?????

Help me understand FAA certification rules...

GA is flooded to the gills with certified 4 place, single engine airplanes. Tecnam is rolling one out soon, I know there are at least 2 other manufacturers with aircraft in the works. There is a huge demand for aerobatic aircraft, and maybe it is easier for aircraft to hit the EU markets as...

Help me understand FAA certification rules...

The Edge 540 isn't certified or more correct, it is certified experimental. Aside from the XA42, you are talking about aircraft that are decades old. Both Extra, and Pitts aircraft have been around, and certified for years.
