ATL Busiest in The World Again

I was in Piedmont Park laying down taking a little nap last weekend and I can believe ATL is the busiest. Watched a lot of planes in that 2 hours.

    CFIs Voice In Absentia

At the early stages of training, "More right rudder" numerous times, and "airspeed" all the time on base and final even when I was nailing it. Constantly hear him saying airspeed in my head when flying solo. Also heard "Those damn birds aren't talking on the radio today" quite a few times.

    The Way I Heard It

I listened to Mike Rowe's podcast, The Way I Heard It, for the first time driving home from ATL last night. I think some of you may enjoy the latest episode. Check it out, it's episode 96 The Pilot and the Passenger. Pretty good story and only 15 minutes long. Perfect for a short commute...

    What planes should I consider?

Zero experience with that aircraft, but would the fabric body be an issue when loading 4 legged friends? They don't always go where you want them to. My instructor said they are an absolute joy to fly though.

Speedboat peeps, some vintage California sweetness?

I know in SC we have no speed limit on any public lake. Which I like, my dad has a skeeter with a 250 and we love to let it eat. But that also means a 14 year old whose completed the boater safety course can also scream 90 mph in their dads Bullet.

Speedboat peeps, some vintage California sweetness?

Just me, but I don't see much fishing going on in that boat. Not much room to move, I only bass fish from our boats so constantly moving around. I could see it being OK if you trolled. I definitely see it being a dang good beer drinking and hell raising boat :D. Sorry I can't help you out with...

    Advice for Flight Training

I had to work for a few years out of college and save before starting my PPL and I plan on doing IR then CPL next. I had student loan debt, still do, but saved up enough while paying that off to begin my training. Now will most likely be borrowing some whether from family or the bank to finish...

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

I really want to look for a cheap 2 place taildragger when I finish my PPL. BUT I just saw this pop up on barnstormers. Might give them a call to figure out some more details. Would be a 40 minute drive to the airport rather than a 10-15 like I have now, but that looks like some cheap time...

    Daily Pic

I'm not going to lie. I stared at it for 2-3 minutes before I actually stopped thinking that this guy was trying to ask for illicit acts with 14 year olds. o_O

Reminds me of when I was like 4-5 and all you had to play with on the computer was MS paint.

Not sure if I should be posting a random N#. If not, feel free to remove it. I saw this though when I went in our mechanics shop this weekend to grab some oil.

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

Had our 152 available all day and great weather so knocked out the rest of my solo cross country time. First trip was the 150 nm requirement from CEU - GRD - AHN - CEU. Used flight following on all the legs. Finished the 3 takeoffs and full stop landings in a traffic pattern at a controlled...

    Whose planes do you fly?

:drool: I fly with a collegiate club. Must be a student, alumni, or faculty member. Looking at ownership once I finish my PPL. (43 hrs currently and weather/mx has been pushing my schedule back tremendously)

The Difference Between Them and Us.

Very true point. Maybe I was different as a kid. I was working in a cabinet shop at age 10 and felt I at least had a little common sense.

The Difference Between Them and Us.

I'm 27 and I feel the same way as you Shep about the kids that I teach (ages 12-13). Completely out of touch with reality. They all have dreams to drive lambos and wear nothing but Gucci clothes but yet refuse to learn to read and write. They see it on instagram and snap chat (social media for...

    Spam callers again (NA)

I've contemplated changing my number. I receive no less than 10-15 spam calls a day. They used to mostly be out of town area codes, but lately it has all been local numbers. I coach two different sport teams and have parents call me frequently so I usually try to answer but these calls have made...

FedEx 705 simulation- gave me the chills

That's what really got me worked up watching this. I probably missed the details, and quite frankly don't know a ton about life insurance through employers, but couldn't he have jumped in front of a bus, make it look like an accident, and claimed the insurance? Or would it have to occur on the...

    yet another C140A owner

My first reaction when I saw this post was that he joked about selling his 140 for 35k and then an hour later you bought it :D. Awesome though! I have been keeping my eye out of one myself when I finish my PPL.
