It is not really LGBTQ... just gay. The club became a gay flying club around 5 years ago. They did it by following their own procedures and voted on it to make it official. Some members were not happy about it and left. I have mixed feelings about it myself. It’s nice to have an all gay...

The club made the change about 5 years ago to an all gay club. Turns out most of the membership was gay anyways so they just made it official. You should probably call up Bill G! He wasn’t too happy with the change and more or less left, he was one of the few that wasn’t gay.

I come here for the echo chamber because the nazi's at https://www.homebuiltairplanes.com have decided to remove any negative comment about Peter. I love to hear about how incompetent he is, for my personal amusement. We all know how this will end, but we don't know when or how. My guess is...

Nope. A 152 on a cold day with one pax and 12 gallons of gas will out climb this thing! A 152 can carry more and has a higher ceiling. It can also fly faster with a steady oil temp. The Craptor cannot maintain level flight without runway temps. Also the 152 just looks better!

The plane is still not stable in any axis. It is also overheating still and its performance doesn't compare to a Cessna 152. What is the point of all this?

Why is it called the Raptor and not the Craptor?

Rusty, Judging by your photo with the fancy helmet and goggles you seem like a very experienced pilot and can probably handle a turbo charged airplane! The original poster was talking about flying an LSA out of an airport half your size and 1000 feet higher. I got the sense that he might be a...

Turbo charged planes require more engine management to operate. IF operated correctly the maintenance costs usually aren't too different than non turbo charged planes. However problems can be expensive! Guess how much it cost when a partner over boosted our T182 on a go around..... it was a...

Lik, were you a member before or after they converted into an all gay flying club? Since the change, I have heard things are much better and there and politics is no longer a problem. Also that DPE is no longer a DPE! The advanced air crowd is just as bad as ever though.

So the density altitude will almost be 12,000 feet in the summer. None of the planes you listed will really be suitable. I have never flown the Jabiru but I have flown all of the mooneys you mentioned and the CTLS. Speaking of the CTLS the book says the service ceiling is 12150 feet! Likely...

Why don't you let us know what planes you are considering then we can tell you if it will work! How long is the runway? In the summer the density altitude is going to be much higher.

The great A&E flying club is at Hawthorne and is the best option but the waitlist is over a year long.

Long Beach flying club is fine. Good prices. I don't know about Pacific Air Center. Torrance is more expensive unless you want to fly the sling.

"Since refunded the deposits in escrow, I beginning to think he is a genius. I wouldn't be surprised if he's making more profit from his Youtube channel than he ever would selling airplane kits. Its more entertaining than a lot of things on tv." Not sure if he is a "genius" but it's true! He...

Just a heads up. The mini route is closed due to staffing issues at LAX. It's still on the charts but you will not get it.

Your supposed to have the VFR chart with the procedures in there. They are all explained pretty well. If the weather is okay they will give you whatever transition you want. If you do the special flight rules you don't need a clearance.
