Garmin Pilot for Android -- Tech Support, Tips, Tricks

I mean when trying to compare the differences between iOS and Android GP. I know Android GP has the logbook feature. But according to their online manual it doesn't list it.

Just a reminder.... (flying IFR during VFR)

Missed seeing this earlier. And my point exactly. Just never had an experience like this before. And I know it won't be my last!

Just a reminder.... (flying IFR during VFR)

It just seemed odd to me given my personal experience and the visibility. Positive it wasn't a multi. We were close enough that I know for sure it was a single engine. It could have been. But if you were doing acrobatics wouldn't you at least call the controllers and tell them you'll be...

Garmin Pilot for Android -- Tech Support, Tips, Tricks

Does anyone know the current differences between iOS and Android? Tried looking at the online manuals but it seems they may be lacking some features (specifically the log book feature on android, not that that really matters)?

Just a reminder.... (flying IFR during VFR)

It just seemed unnnessarily high. I do most of my maneuvers below 4000 msl, (just for reference this is where the floor of most of the instrument approaches around our airport is, so there usually isn't much ifr traffic down there. Not that I'm doing maneuvers in line with runways). Plus flight...

Just a reminder.... (flying IFR during VFR)

When flying on an IFR flight plan in VFR weather you are expected to see an avoid just like you were bumbling along not talking to anybody.... On my flight today I was flying at 6,000. There was a decent amount of haze and smoke. About my 11 to 12 position I notice a dark spot in the near...

    Where should I fly tomorrow?

Ended up flying down to north myrtle beach (kcre). Great flight overall. Filed IFR. Didn't really need it although forward visibility was limited because of some of the fires and just a lot of haze. Couldn't get the crew car (stupid age....) so I took an uber to the beach and a restaurant...

    Where should I fly tomorrow?

Tomorrow looks like a beautiful day up and down most of the east coast. So where should I fly to? I want between a total of 4 to 8 hours of flying time. Departing from north Central maryland. Any good restaurants recommendations or fun sightseeing type places right on a field? Cheap fuel is...

Garmin Pilot for Android -- Tech Support, Tips, Tricks

I didn't know if they would have the active times or not. But you did answer my question! I thought I had tried that and couldn't get it to work.

Yeah not sure when the LHM name changed, it's within the last month or so. But back to GP, does anyone know how to get information on MOA on gp? Heights, controllers, etc.

430W database "expired" in the future???

I feel like I see that first thing after I update the database at the first start up. Never gave much thought to it since it goes away.

    Buyer's Agent Recommendations?

...... anyways..... OP, I agree with @James331 . What you need is an AP you can trust that hasn't worked on the plane you are looking to buy to do a pre-buy/annual. It all depends on where the plane you find is located. If you do happen to find one close buy as a mechanic from your field you...

    To Commercial and beyond!

It's been a week since I've updated this. One of the partners had the plane out for the weekend/ beginning of the week, but I've gotten up everyday since Wednesday. Feeling pretty comfortable with all the maneuvers. Really surprises me there isn't much maneuvers wise to the commercial test...

    Time for an Engine Monitor?

I mean I've always done full power on takeoff and then back to 25/25 at about 400 ft agl. And take that to cruise where I'll do 23/24 or lower if I'm not in any hurry (21/24). I'm no mechanic by any means so I can't say as to whether or not how you or I run the engine affects the longevity.
