Anybody ever fly into KJSY (Joseph, OR)?

Also curious about best airports in Oregon for some airport camping. Would love to hear some recommendations.

Anybody ever fly into KJSY (Joseph, OR)?

Pondering an overnight trip out to see the Wallowas and camp under the wing if KJSY is friendly for that sort of thing. Anybody have any experience or tips for making it more enjoyable? thanks!

    Headset headband upgrade

Anybody know of and use a nice, extra cushy and comfy headband pad that fits a Bose A20? I’ve got a friend with a smaller, and more “delicate” head that would like one for longer flights. It’s the one deficiency I’ve found with the Bose...otherwise comfortable for everyone.

    Flying in Argentina

Ha! I’ve got a matching hyper lapse of Fitz from the other side. You captured yours from one of the best viewpoints anywhere. Amazing isn’t it? The scary part is sometimes the winds up there almost seem to make a hyperlapse look slow! =) I’ve been blown off my feet there before. Good days to...

    Flying in Argentina

Very cool. Great videos. I’ve spent a decent amount of time climbing in a number of those peaks. Too bad you had overcast skies out of Calafate and missed my favorites in the el Chalten massif. Worth a return flight for ya ... and some more epic aerial footage. When are you goin back? =) edit...

Bose lists at 12.0oz, DC at 12.3oz, and Lightspeed at 14.5oz ... so that’s a bit of a head scratcher ...

thanks. Either I’m lazy or really bad at searching or both. I should have said came up “nearly blank” but still didn’t find that much. :-) Regardless thanks for the additional data.

Awesome, thanks guys. That’s good to hear. It’s strange to me that DC gets so little love in what I can find publicly available. Bose has done a very good job with their product, sure. But sometimes it seems like their dominance is at least as much a result of how great their marketing has...

I searched but came up blank. Anyone on here have a review of the DC One-X? I know people swear by their A20s, but I’ve liked the DC’s I’ve used in the past. Durability is always excellent and I have never had any issues with their comfort. ANR performance sounds roughly similar and non-ANR...

    Ground school for the road...

Hey all, super useful perspectives all around. I get that everyone studies a little differently and this gives me some new options. I’ll probably get the digital version of the ASA book for this trip (traveling remotely from roughly now until mid-February). I tried to talk to Jeppesen about how...

    Ground school for the road...

Thanks. The ASA option is available in a Kindle which makes it fit my current needs. I’ve been using the FAA’s “Instrument Flying Handbook” as my overview book to do this “pre-study” sort of thing that I’m engaged in now. It reads more like a reference volume than a text/study book - which...

    Ground school for the road...

Thanks, I’ll take a look. Ideally I avoid traveling with textbooks and can go digital on an iPad Mini to save weight. But it looks like that book may be a worth getting regardless.

    Ground school for the road...

I travel extensively for work, often overseas and consistently without internet connectivity. My current working plan is to be ready to dive in to my instrument training and commercial training this summer. Until then I want to study as much as possible to prepare for actual flight time later. I...

Career advice...? LOTS of questions here...

So now the questions become more about how best to move from somewhat rusty PPL to Commercial/IFR ready...while holding down a pretty crazy travel and work schedule currently. What strategies for book study and refresher training are best for IFR? For Commercial? Especially during times when...

Career advice...? LOTS of questions here...

Thanks for all the advice and ideas folks. First post on the forum and it’s cool to get some good, honest feedback from y’all. Air show pilot =) HA! I appreciate the vote of confidence but I don’t place myself anywhere close to that category. I’m incredibly lucky to have some (minimal) stick...
