My last thought before take off is nose down if engine lost. The seat not being locked in makes sense unless his copilot was a licensed pilot. Can’t see both seats not being locked in. wonder if they loaded a heavy package that shifted on take off.

i have a PA24 and I have flown that route a few times (Sugarland to Boerne). My plane has mains and auxiliary tanks. The mains hold 30 gal each but only good for 28. At low altitude, 16 gals/hr is normal but I have a 260. A previous owner claims no Aux on this plane so he had 56 gals of useable...

Go to flight aware and check out his flight. Really weird, doesn’t look like fuel exhaustion to me. Looks like engine problem and he tried doing a 360 to lose altitude. Maybe lost his engine doing the 360. N6678P Practice those emergency landing procedures!
