    Oversized bushing

What's the legal way to fix this? I'm not an A&P, so it's a matter of curiosity. If the hole is elongated, don't you pretty much have to ream it out to some round shape? It's pretty difficult to make oval bushings isn't it? thanks!

    What would you do?

If I lived where your location says you lived, I'd go here and make a phone call... https://santabarbaraca.gov/government/departments/public-works/public-works-downtown-team/downtown-plaza-and-parking/street-parking

Oxygen Concentrator for older folks flying between 7000 to 10,000 feet

curious about the pulse ox feedback - I could tell pretty clearly at say 9-10k that I'd prefer to have O2. Are you using the pulse ox meter to help modify your breathing or ensure the equipment is working or something else? The dull headache for me was good biofeedback.

FFS. I need a new hobby.

I got fancy on my trials motorcycle and 3d printed block off plates and plugs for the various orifices during a rebuild. 4 pack of some Plano organizers also let me go fully absurd in a way cardboard can’t.

FFS. I need a new hobby.

I actually looked up how far away you were. I am *REALLY* good at tearing things apart. Fortunately you've got a book to tell you how to put it back together :p

Lead is also over - so I question looking only at iron in hindsight wondering if the number is related to things thing that occured, while ignoring all the other variances in the sample. This is kind of classic confirmation bias.

Mechanic in Annual Inspection Replaced ELT that hadn't expired and charged me for it

I don't know the exact words that you've used to communicate, but what you can try doing is give the mechanic an out and suggest that maybe he's pulled over a labor item from another job, or even copied last years work order(?) because you know he'd just serviced it last year, and it doesn't...

Electric charger station for aircraft at KVBT

I'm curious if this UPS scenario includes EV trucks as well - the infrastructure at the airports will presumably be built out. I'd want to either pull up my utlization rate up high enough to justify the premium electrical service required for the chargers, or push it down to the floor and use a...

Electric charger station for aircraft at KVBT

I suppose I mashed up automotive thinking into my brain when I saw the box and didn't consider they didn't need to actually do it with electricity if they offboarded more of the system. In most of the car systems I'm familiar with, the onboard HVAC doing either cabin or battery conditioning is...

Electric charger station for aircraft at KVBT

It was interesting to me that they've created multiple high voltage busses and split them apart so they can charge the battery and power their thermal management for the battery and cabin independently so as not to degrade charge times. I dont know if they're all equally capable charging...

    Bulging Lithium Battery: Stratux ADSB

I've had this issue with packs that I 1. stored charged 2. left exposed to heat in varying degrees. Don't store lipos in your plane, which feels hypocritcal to type given how many I have in model airplanes in the next room :/

    Weird headset behavior in C172

Do both your headsets have the same plug? Or is one stereo (left) and the other mono (right)?

    Weird headset behavior in C172

I guess I'm confused as to what problem is actually being reported- OP- did you have audio output issues from known sources, say ATIS, where the two headsets didn't have equal output? Or did you have some issue with speaking into the microphones and not being able to hear it either via side...

Hangar tools - Tow bar hanger

On the off chance that other folks have wandering tow bars, the current solution for our club is a 3d printed wall hanger. The design is downloadable at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6739884 Designed around the Wag Aero style bar for Cessna, might fit some others with similar T-handle size...

    Weird headset behavior in C172

We had a plane in our club that came into possession wired with stereo jacks, but shunted across what should have been the Left and Right outputs in an attempt to make it compatible with mono plugs. It had the effect of shorting the system when used with headsets that had mono only plugs and...

    Oshkosh 2024 - Who's going?

We took a moment to stop in Kenosha and look at that connective sigmet from the ground around 3:30. Ran up over Milwaukee, got an update from approach on what they saw and joined at Green Lake. Agree it felt light and almost too easy. I dorked up my final into 36 and drug in for a half mile or...

My rental 182 is with another club member this morning waiting for some convective blob in Kentucky to move. Hopefully we can get into aircraft camping later this afternoon once we get going.

PA28/32 Wing Spar AD - Show me the data!

It’s important To note that failure to find correlation isn’t a failure of the analyst, and it doesn’t mean the work is unimportant. I was recently in some meeting pointing out that the action being proposed would not support the outcomes that were desired. The fact I didn’t have some alternate...
