    Henning

Last I heard from him I was at Walmart shopping for a pot big enough to hold a large dungeness crab. We were discussing if I should boil or bake a live crab for a man I was going to cook dinner for. How many people have threads about them? I'd say it has got to mean something.

    Airventure adventure

Great read. With the exception of an engine out / half an engine out during my primary training with my CFI (we lost 2 cylinders), the scariest thing to happen to me in flight has been an open door and carb ice. One (carb ice) fixed in air but I was scared the rest of the day and one (the door)...

    I'm I crazy for wanting a Cessna 140A?

Look how pretty (the interior is super retro and cool):

    I'm I crazy for wanting a Cessna 140A?

I love the 140 and have even been flying its baby cousin, the 120, lately. Here is me last weekend with a new (new to a friend of mine) 140:

    Airport access... Seriously?

They never escort me to my plane when I park at KSTS. That's why I don't fly there, too - the $50 badge etc. My airport (untowered) only recently put up fences. And we leave the gates open all the time such as display days or monthly dinners.

    How bad is Oakland California?

That's funny. The last time I was in Oakland, I met a friend for dinner at Yoshi's (Sushi / Jazz Club). He was in my car after dinner and I was driving him back to his friend's apartment, where he was staying. He had the latest and greatest iPhone with "Siri" when that was cool. We decided...

    How bad is Oakland California?

Edit: by walk over I do not mean literally. I just mean there are people loitering, hanging out, there are homeless people, there are crazy people, whatever. I guess I have street smarts. Don't look like you're lost or get buried in your cell phone and you'll be fine.

    How bad is Oakland California?

I love Oakland but I did see a concert there one night and later found out there was a shooting. I do go there at night, alone, to meet people for dinner, and park my car and walk over all the homeless people. Then again, I was born and raised in SF and took the subway since I was 8 years...

Funniest thing you've heard on the radio?

I decided to face my radio fears and fly to TWO towered airports (one was me and one was the pilot I'm splitting time with). We both did funny things: When they read me my taxi instructions (One was using taxiway "B") I read back "taxi via Broadway" When my pilot landed at another...

Not a competition. More like hangar flying.

Make Me Jealous Of Your Weekend

28 newbies? Young Eagles? I only flew four flights when we did Young Eagles but gosh that was a blast.

    Coffee and safety

Agreed. Though I was thinking of becoming a mechanic. So eventually I'll probably learn how to change a tire. I do know when you put the little lug nuts back on you use a torque wrench and do a criss cross pattern. More than some girls know I guess.

    Coffee and safety

That's what I was thinking but I'm not sure that is what he was thinking. Besides that is an inside joke. And damn you have a good memory.

    Coffee and safety

I would change a tire if: (1) I had a lot of men in the car. Changing a tire on the side of a road is a huge risk here for women. That whole damsel in distress thing. Yes, I would like to know how to do it but no, I don't want to die. In 34 years I've only had one or two flat tires and...

Make Me Jealous Of Your Weekend

This thread is meant to be like the years old thread of "make me jealous of your airport." That was when I wanted to learn why everyone loved the airport(s) they flew out of. Now I propose "make me jealous of your weekend." What totally awesome aviation weekend did you have? I will...

    Camping in California

Hmmm. Have the plane Saturday and didn't even think about Shelter Cove since it is so tricky to get in and out of. How far to walk to the pretty beaches from the plane? Don't think I had time to when we were there with POA members.
