    Diagnosed with Hemorrhoids

Hemmorioids aren't generlaly regarded as aeromedically significant....when you report the diagnosis, the visit and then the AME yawns....Hemmoroid surgery CAN be painful.

    And so it goes..

Older senior captain whom I've been taking care of for some years, advised that the doc thinks a Coronary calcium scan is appropriate. Score comes back 1,800. Went immediatetly to cath lab. Result- a single algebraic tomographic 8.4% lesion in the LAD. How do they detect 8.4%- I can't even see...

First class medical with two DUI’s

Say. Please. if you're going to try to "educate a HIMS AME" who is also a Medical professor I say 'that's pretty rich". I'm ROTFLMAO because you had no idea we can choose the test contractor with the threshold we think appropriate. And you obviouly didn't "groc" that even with a (?) false...

FAA Drops Expiration Date from CFI

Brad: A RARE complaint from me: For me its about the "we gotta make this look right" attitude @ FAA Brad. since the addition of the "50 hours rule for like type" we've lost a lot of DPEs. Tough now to book a student's training when you can't get a DPE lined up. FAA did the same thing to...

First class medical with two DUI’s

Your posts suggest that you didn't know that a good HIMS AME can choose at what level to get reported as positive! CDT? YGMSM. That went out the window in 1995.

First class medical with two DUI’s

Dude: Attempt to contain your bitterness. Besides, "that have ZERO credibility" is a bit of a stretch. Industry uses these and the outcomes are reasonable. Soberlink vs ETG is about cost. Pilots, not flying are POOR. It is what it is. If you can get your congresscritter to even want to try to...

First class medical with two DUI’s

I start ‘em as early as possible. When done to the FAA STD by a HIMS AME, he credibly testifies and they all count.

AL1606, price a soberlink and the monthlies. It's not a option for others than those well off in another profession or sitting captains. Random Urine ETGs cost half as much,if that.

Getting "Trapped" By AME's Refusing Fast Track

Uh…..no actually…and the audit rate is 100%. The AME has to therefore substantiate each assertion. He gets “second guessed” by the agency. For that list I have to get every past record (1), 10 year pharmacy report, evaluate the candidate for all the symptoms in the lists in item (1). Criminal...

Al1606 has is correct. And it has to be a HIMS AME. List is at the bottom of the "Find an AME" page @FAA.gov.

Getting "Trapped" By AME's Refusing Fast Track

I’m saying you ask the AME ahead of time if he’s willing to put a fast track through. No response….WRONG AME. It’s the same as asking the FBO what all his charges are goong to be. If he is not transparent, WRONG FBO. Do you have a problem with personal responsibility? In the past year FAA...

Getting "Trapped" By AME's Refusing Fast Track

The fact that many choose to blame others....is a sickness in America. And until you have attempted to change the ;marching orders in the system..... you'll get that "life is hort, fill the squares. As the GOOD private attorneys say, "get good advice". Like the guy who worte me recently for...

Getting "Trapped" By AME's Refusing Fast Track

It's easy to deflect getting mad at oneself over lack of prep, onto others...... It's the same umbrage at extra fees, unannounced from the big FBO. When in reality I should have asked in more detail and gotten a name. I don't fall for that one anymore.

    Flying with low/flat strut

Summary: if you are ACE of Base you might try this. But the penalties for not performing up to "ACE" level can have quite stiff, hidden and long term in consequences. Why would one do a thing like this?
