ASEL with single door on left?

Do TBM's count? I know the 850 has a left side door for the pilot, but it also has a door in the back...

    JetBlue extended my vacation involuntarily

I don't know if you're being terse and combative for a reason, or if it's just how you are, but I'll humor you. I do know that crew duty limits are cumulative, however (i.e. I can read 117.23 just like anyone else). But if the airline claims the cancellation was due to weather, while it was...

    JetBlue extended my vacation involuntarily

11pm on 20Jan: Cancellation of CUN-MCO flight on the 21st *and* MCO-CUN flight on the 22nd. I am rebooked on CUN-MCO flight on the 23rd. 21st: Flight arrived on-time in CUN from MCO but doesn't return to MCO, stays overnight in CUN. 22nd: No flight from MCO-CUN, but the airplane already...

    JetBlue extended my vacation involuntarily

What makes you think that I think that? But seriously, if that's the case, I'm willing to accept it, it just seems far-fetched. I don't know the new duty day or flight time restrictions. When would the crew have to start their duty day in order to be out of time by 1pm (the scheduled...

    JetBlue extended my vacation involuntarily

I considered the crew rest thing, too, but am unable to wrap my head around how that would allow the crew to fly from MCO to CUN at 8am but not return to MCO a few hours later. Why would they have not just cancelled the initial flight out of MCO also? Keeping in mind the cancellation was around...

    JetBlue extended my vacation involuntarily

Okay, so my wife and I flew JetBlue from Orlando to Cancun a week and a half ago. This flight is quite simple, it originates from Orlando (i.e. doesn't start from some other city first) and goes direct to Cancun. A couple of hours later, the flight returns from Cancun to Orlando. It's the...

Windows 7 laptop vs. Macbook Pro/Air

I'm told that there is an Apple "tax" in the sense that a similarly spec'ed machine from another manufacturer costs less, but I have not verified this personally. I have been using MacBook Pro laptops exclusively for the last 8 years and I absolutely love them. I do a lot of work (who am I...

    Blackhawk "Hard Landing" 1 fatal

That's easy. Please exit via the nearest gaping hole. Please be mindful of big spinny things while exiting. To be fair, I quit giving pax briefs a long time ago. Although our exits are quite obvious.

Any idiot can fly a plane, but helicopters not so much?

D and A models have identical g-limits. However I was reading the chart backwards. The lower limits are at 20k density altitude. That is, at zero feet density altitude between 85 and135 ktas with a GW of 14,660lb, the g-limits are +3.5 and -0.5. If you could get a -64 to 20k DA (without...

Any idiot can fly a plane, but helicopters not so much?

AH-64 is limited to a minimum of +0.2g at sea level down to -0.5g at 20,000 feet MSL (ha!) when at minimum weight and between 85 and 135 knots TAS. Of course, +0.2g is pretty low and would probably be described by most people as "negative G" simply because most people think anything that...

Any idiot can fly a plane, but helicopters not so much?

Depends on what you mean by "training". Besides, there are plenty of idiot helicopter pilots.

    Mikhail Kalashnikov Dies At 94

There must be a misunderstanding. It was claimed that guns are not designed to kill, which they are. You said it was DoD doctrine, which I assumed meant that DoD doctrine was that guns are designed to wound. Which they aren't.

    IR EVS should be standard...

I'm talking about "normal" glass windows, FLIR can't see through those. The lenses and protective sheets used in the lenses and on the pods isn't "glass" in the typical sense of the word.

    IR EVS should be standard...

FLIR doesn't work through clouds or glass, although it should see through plexiglass just fine.
