For Sale: Aircraft For Sale - 1976 Piper Archer II in San Diego

Hello everyone. Just a quick follow-up. The owners (wife and husband) changed their minds. The plane is no longer for sale. And, I'm happy about their decision. :)

Thanks Chris! I just placed a Barnstormers ad and one on Kijiji. That's great that you had high conversion on the Canadian site. I am going to be curious to see what kind of response I get there. I appreciate the idea of using Kijiji! Hopefully I don't get bumped off it for speaking...

For Sale: Aircraft For Sale - 1976 Piper Archer II in San Diego

Chris, That's good info and I can tell you put some thought into your reply. Thank you sir! I'll reach out to that broker and see if he has any info he can share. Another thought - Trade-A-Plane vs. Controller. Controller was very economical for an ad. Controller was about 8x the cost for...

For Sale: Aircraft For Sale - 1976 Piper Archer II in San Diego

Good info and thank you. I am a real estate broker and, when it comes to homes, it is pretty easy to see final sale prices. Too bad there isn't a database of equivalent info for airplanes. I have not been paying attention to Archer values so valuation is a bit challenging.

For Sale: Aircraft For Sale - 1976 Piper Archer II in San Diego

I hear you and appreciate the info. While the engine is past TBO, running engines beyond TBO seems to be more common now than, let's say, 10 years ago. If compressions are good, oil filters and oil analysis are looking good, I am comfortable running an engine beyond TBO. My O-470 is just past...

True and thank you for the response. If the op invites comments, it's ok. I wondered about that too and looked at the forum rules on that topic before posting. Maybe I should post in the general group and ask, "what's it worth"? That might bring more comments.

Thanks for the response! Good way to look at it. I suspect there may be a price adjustment once I get a little more feedback.

For Sale: Aircraft For Sale - 1976 Piper Archer II in San Diego

Did I post this in the wrong place? I figured I would have gotten a dozen comments by now about how it is priced too high, too low, the photos are blurry, not enough info, too much info, why we aren't using a broker, why we shouldn't use a broker, and, most important, boxes or briefs? I...

For Sale: Aircraft For Sale - 1976 Piper Archer II in San Diego

Hello everyone, My hangar neighbor just doesn't have enough time to enjoy his Piper Archer II and I am helping him sell it. I have spent a lot of time in 4731F and it is a fun little plane. Here are the specs: Asking price is $100,000 but see comments below. 1976 Piper Archer II (PA 28-181)...

Champion T-Handle Spark Plug Lead Wrench $$$

I don't. But I've seen guys apply to much. They can tell because the lead nuts are cracked. :)

    Spatial Disorientation

Fair enough. Honestly, I don't know how much hood time I get. I log it when I need it for currency and such but I fly under the hood at other times it doesn't always get logged. I'd say perhaps 10-15 hours a year of hood time. I fly under the hood more than I do in IMC. I know that much as...

    Spatial Disorientation

I appreciate the input. But, how can I get 10-15 of actual? I do great under the hood and my IPCs always end with the instructor saying "Why did you have me do this? You're good." The only time I get the SD/leans is when in IMC. I suppose I could just wear a hood anytime I am getting near...

Champion T-Handle Spark Plug Lead Wrench $$$

Ok, ok. I hear ya. It's a solution looking for a problem. But, if you have used one, you'll know how easy it is to get to the leads off the bottom plugs. And, I'll never over-tighten the lead nuts unless I put a cheater bar on the t-handle. ;)

    Spatial Disorientation

Agreed. Having a capable passenger/co-pilot is great. I have never been embarrassed to request a little help from ATC. They'd rather give me a hand than have me mess up their plan by surprising them.

    Spatial Disorientation

I get more hood time than actual and do make it a point to stay current more than legally required. San Diego doesn't offer much IMC time building as it is usually just a couple thousand feet thick layer to pop through. If it hard IMC, ATC will give us routes between 6,000 and 9,000'. They...

    Spatial Disorientation

Hello everyone, While recently chatting with some pilot buddies, we talked about flying in the soup and spatial disorientation. I mentioned that I tend to get "the leans" pretty much every time I enter a cloud layer. A buddy said he only felt the feeling once before which I thought was pretty...
