Pilots and Paws on GMA (12 Sept)

I don't think the average non-pilot knows the difference between a Pilatus and a C152. They're all just small planes to most people.

    T-34 time

The flight manual calls it Alternate Air. When the handle is pulled it "shuts off the normal ram air and admits warm air from the engine compartment as an alternate source of air to the fuel control." I think its intended in case of a clogged inlet as opposed to carb ice (since there is no carb)

iPhone or Netbook -- Poll & Reasons Why

I'd go with the iphone. You'll always have it with you (assuming you typically carry your cell phone whereever you go) so you'll always have access to the web appications you want. If you get a netbook there are bound to be times when you don't think to bring it with you and then wish you had...

    T-34 time

Yup that's the throttle. The prop and mixture are there on the left too. You fly with your right hand. Funny thing, I find it awkward to fly with my right hand in an airplane with a yoke but not with a stick. Feels perfectly natural. Maybe I'm use to it from my glider training but I don't...

    T-34 time

I recently joined the flying club at Willow Grove NAS mainly to fly their two T-34 Mentors. The past two weekends I got some dual as part of the checkout. To be checked out I’ll need a minimum of five hours time in type and flights with two instructors. Before the first flight I had read...
