I'm 47 and I also get a 13%defined contribution from the company. In addition I add 13% of my pay to 401k so with 26% going towards retirement I feel 'pretty good' despite being 47 and behind schedule.

I tried to also mention the out go. $2k mortgage and $500 cars. That's it plus food and *stuff.
