Civil Air Patrol 182 fatal, Colorado, 11/23

Probably the pilot in the right seat. CAP has requirements that must be met in order to give instruction and testing in CAP-specific types of flying, but the FAA does not. CAP does require a check pilot to be an FAA-qualified instructor to verify that its pilots meet FAA standards, which is a...

    Canceling FlightAware Aviator option.

Perhaps, but it would be easier to cancel the account and create a free account using a different email address. It just seems weird that that would be necessary.

    Canceling FlightAware Aviator option.

Is there a way to cancel auto-renewing of FlightAware's Aviator option? I no longer need the display of aviation sectionals.

Why are people still wearing masks?

It also disregards the known effectiveness of thorough hand-washing.

Why are people still wearing masks?

I've been having trouble with various symptoms after driving my twenty-year-old car, which probably has mold in the air conditioner. When I drive my forty-year-old pickup which has no air conditioner, I feel better. I'm thinking of seeing if wearing an N95 will deal with the problem until I see...

Word to the wise - a warm body with a certificate days are over - for now.

Seems to me that all of those categories of flying provide experience in making sound enough go/no-go decisions to make it to 1500 hours in one piece.

Is Broken at 1300 considered VFR?

That picture is what I'm talking about as well. I agree that 50 feet would be too low for safe maneuvering, but the ceiling in the photo doesn't look that low to me. It's hard to judge without actually being there, but at some point before reaching the edge of the cloud deck, if it looks like it...

Best location for the $ to live and fly LSAs?

My guess would be rural areas of Kansas.

Is Broken at 1300 considered VFR?

As far as I know, there's no minimum altitude for go-arounds. If you're asking what happens if the ceiling is too low for the maneuver I suggested to be safe, that doesn't appear to be the case in the scenario that prompted flyingpreacher's question...

Is Broken at 1300 considered VFR?

I would make a 180 and fly back out from under that cloud deck.

Tach to Hobbs conversion for logging

All but one or two of the many rental planes I have flown had it wired like yours.

What is this symbol at PRB VOR?

The good thing about VORs (besides being a good backup) is that there is a lot less button-pushing!
