I have to look into the FARs.. but I know I have seen people with comm or ATP.. but thier license said "private based on foreign license etc etc".. so im assuming they got thier comm and up based on USA standards.. unless im mistaken. It would pretty extreme if you have to start over "on USA...

instrument is a rating. are you planning to train at a local flight school or a college/flying course? Because a flying course will come with the course standard that the scholl uses (gliem/jepp/asa etc). good luck.

The CPL is just a fancy private test. By far one the easiest written test (IMO) that I have taken.. it was almost a joke honestly (96%). AGI (only cause its the ENTIRE cfi test banks I found a little hard to study for, still passed with 90% plus). Video's/course.. etc, is definitely a good idea...

This will be of no help to you, but the FAA IFHB is all you really need and a low enroute chart. BUT.. I strongly recommend Dauntless for test prep study (the explanations they give are amazing and if you wanted something on the PC). If not, then I recommend ASA test prep book. good luck.

I have never heard a CFI say all at once, and you would lose massive amounts of lift depending on airspeed. But irregardless of that.. just consult the POH..

agreed.. on most of the replies. There is obviously MANY great first's, IFR solo. First type rating. First jet plane. First multi solo.. etc etc.. I was only talking about zero hr student though, earning your initial wings.
