    1993 Socata Trinidad TB-20

Can you tell me what your last few annuals ran you? I'm putting together ballpark costs for the other members. Thanks

    1993 Socata Trinidad TB-20

I'm aware of the parts of the insurance (have a good understanding in general and owned an aircraft for a long time). Unfortunately the three of us have little retract time so the quotes we've received have been higher and understandably higher, but quite higher. I wanted to see what others...

    1993 Socata Trinidad TB-20

For those of you that said you drive one of these. What are you paying annually for insurance? My quote was quite high based on the 3 pilots.

    1993 Socata Trinidad TB-20

There is a mechanic that I currently go to that has worked on the plane for years. The avionics are old and in our case would need to be upgraded. Currently, we are all 6' and under so not an issue. I saw a guy that was 6'2" 220lbs sit in one comfortably. Like I said, this wasn't on our radar...

    1993 Socata Trinidad TB-20

I'm looking for some feedback from Socata Trinidad TB-20 pilots or mechanics. Looking for any information about performance, insurance costs (with your experience), maintenance costs, and any other thoughts you have about the plane. In this case the one that I am looking at is a 1993 model...

Allowing CFI to fly my plane

I have two partners that were students a few years ago and had their own flight instructor. I just called my agent and added him. I'm not sure if the premium changed at that time, but it was that simple. I believe he filled out a form with his information and flying experience.

    Parking at KHPN

I park at Million Air there and if I get gas they've let me park for free.

It was my understanding with the proper requirements that a US pilot could fly into Canada. The BasicMed rule of not flying to Canada was a US decision.

After reading all of these responses, I have a couple of comments. I have had many 3rd class exams over the years and my exams compared to BasicMed have been very similar, my AME for my 3rd class took it very seriously and we talked a lot during the exam allowing him to understand my health and...

Good place to find quotes on insurance before deciding on a plane?

I used Aviation Insurance Resources. Victoria was extremely helpful and is a pilot herself.

    Columbo Rolls a Bonanza

Johnny Cash is in an episode of Columbo. Not sure if he was the pilot but he killed someone, and then parachuted out and let the plane crash. Great episode and and I do believe he was the pilot.

    Converging from opposite sides

I think that all of your calls are pretty standard for going into a non towered airport. I wouldn't say that what you experienced is normal, however, my field isn't always real busy. I think I would of come back on the radio and told the other plane my position, and that I am setting up for 4...

    Air-to-Air Piper Tomahawk

I started in early 1980. I flew Tomahawk 2477B & 23913. No headset back then.

    Talking on the radio improvements

I bought say again, please by Bob Gardner a long time ago. Read it cover to cover a few times and it really helped me. I started in a class, so I was placed in the fire from the beginning. Great book though and I believe he used to be on this site too.

    Power on remotely

That's a great idea. I'm not real far from the FBO, and mounting the antenna shouldn't be all that bad.

    Power on remotely

This year I want to fly more than I have in the past. I've seen posted here cell service devices for powering on a device remotely, but my searches have come up empty. I want to power on my engine heater prior to my 35 minute drive. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Has anyone here had any experience with Summit Aviation Flight School in Kingston, NY? I'm looking for some feedback on their accelerated IR program.

    Accelerated instrument training

OK, so let me throw a wrench in this. Let's say I know a DPE that still teaches. Can I hire him as an instructor to help me prepare for the oral, or to go over the ACS with me?
