    Air Conditioning Effect Performance?

The AC in the Mustang is pretty effective and I like that I can run it on the ground with GPU power or just the right engine turning. Means I can pre-cool the cabin before loading up the wife and kids on a hot day.

    Dumb motorist thread

Yeah, old gas turning to varnish is relatively common but oil turning to jello seems like a prank or something... I can't think of a normal chemical process that would result in that.

Yeah I'm not really sure how that happened... Any guesses? There are a lot of WTF moments in those videos. Amazing what people will do!

    Dumb motorist thread

I just saw a guy a couple weekends ago pour oil all over his Mercedes E class engine because he overfilled while “topping off his oil” which he had been in the habit of doing every couple of gas fill-ups…

Aren’t there online services that will print for you and send you the part too?

    Is the phrase "rolling" useful?

Same... Especially in a jet because it takes a few seconds for the engines to spool so they won't see you move right away, there are a bunch of pre-takeoff switches to flip and sometimes you do a static takeoff - all of that can add time which they don't want you to take in an expedited...

    Vmc Roll

I'm multi rated but would not be comfortable flying a piston twin without a whole bunch of extra training because all my twin experience is in jets where Vmc LOC is just not a thing.

    Earbud headsets

I have had good luck with Shure for wired ear buds. I now use wireless ones (Apple in my case) for the convenience but if I wanted best quality and OK with the wires, I'd recommend them as well - can't compare quality across a very wide range but they sound good to me and are very durable.

Cirrus Fuel Boost Pump and NTSB

Exactly. I understand the economics of GA piston being a tiny market with too little $$$ for anyone to have a major incentive to actually embrace semi-modern technology but this 1930s tractor technology that you have to put up with is a big reason I went to the turbine world where the economics...

Cirrus Fuel Boost Pump and NTSB

No major disagreement on my end - especially on your first point - but the fuel pumps in SR22s are notoriously finicky/failure prone. I lost track of how many replacements/rebuilds I went through on my SR22TN but it was something like 3 main engine driven pumps and 2 electric boost pumps and at...

A couple of weeks ago on final back to the home base: Then I parked next to this airplane that has the best N number I have seen to date. The owner was very nice (pun intended)

    How High Do You Get?

Typically in the FL300s range but could be in the twenties for short flights or all the way up to FL410 if the winds/temp/weight favor it. The Mustang doesn't have enough power to reliably climb straight to FL410 though in a lot of cases (temp and weight dependent).

Where are the reserve parking spots for grumpy old white guys?

Similar concept but I used to be a member of a gym in NYC that was on 3 levels and had an elevator. I'd see people take the elevator to the 3rd floor and then literally get on a stairmaster.. Blew my mind!

Where are the reserve parking spots for grumpy old white guys?

I'm sorry for whatever has gone wrong in your life/mental health that resulted in you deriving pleasure from inflicting petty acts of hostility towards complete strangers. Some people do volunteer work to help others, some people are on the other end of the spectrum I guess. I choose the former...

Where are the reserve parking spots for grumpy old white guys?

What's really weird is that if you don't care about minimizing walk distance and purposely park your car very far away where there is no one else around (nicely centered in the lines, not being a douche at all) because you don't want anyone parking next to you... you have a 90% chance of coming...

Where are the reserve parking spots for grumpy old white guys?

It’s actually a pretty good idea… She still tends to be a bit careless when parking and could use a little extra space.

Thanks. That sounds about right from what I know about the Phenoms. I have no left seat time in them because I’m too tall to fit but have chartered a P300 a few times and it’s a lovely cabin and performer. One of my close friends just bought a P100 so I expect I’ll try to shoehorn myself in...
