    The other airplane raffle

Either my math was bad or the date changed. I'm guessing my math was bad. I'm 3 days away from becoming a 172 owner, right?

Just say his name 3 times. (as in Beetlejuice)

Ron Levy account is now poadeleted20?

If you have a know-it-all persona on the internet you'll attract hecklers. (As opposed to real life conversation where people nod politely and plot their escape.) If you're an internet know-it-all who can't tolerate dissent from the "little people", your path to a temper tantrum is set...

    Who's a cruise addict?

I understand completely. I'm being a bit of devil's advocate in favor of the cruise ship. I thought before I went that I'd hate it. I kind of liked it. I have an Alberg 30 project boat sitting in my back yard. I hope to get that back in the water one of these days. Right after I finish...

    Who's a cruise addict?

People are sheep; they gather in herds. I found it very easy to find a quiet spot to read a book and watch the waves go by. Those boats are BIG.

Is General Aviation Dying in the USA?

 Yup.... I was going to say Henning's numbers need to double but then we're just arguing details.

    Who's a cruise addict?

I've been on exactly 1 cruise in my life so take this with a grain of salt. I think the buffets are low quality but the sit down dinners in the evening are good. Not GREAT but definitely good. Cruising on a cruise ship is a very passive experience. I've done a bunch of cruising on small...

Is General Aviation Dying in the USA?

When these discussions come up I'm always amazed at the number of folks who say cost isn't a factor. I guess that points on the income bracket most pilots are in. Cost is the #1 factor that limits my hours/year since getting my license.

    Near miss on final video

Making position announcements on the radio doesn't preclude looking out the window.

    PA32 down out of PDK

Would it be morbid to have an accident forum? It would be nice to see the follow up on a lot of these crashes. As it is, threads like this scroll off the front page and we never hear what went wrong.

Aircraft Prices Versus Annual Income in the 1930s

You have a point. Only person I knew that owned an airplane was my uncle. He was a surgeon.

    That's not good.

Hey, he had to leave the donut shop to come over to the aiport. He'll find a crime somewhere. Maybe a nav light is out. :D

    Intraocular Lens replacement

My optometrist keeps bringing up the "clear lens replacement" option for me because I'm very nearsighted with astigmatism and NOW barely squeaking by the FAA's never vision test. I'll soon have to start toting around reading glasses. He keeps saying the surgeon would fix me up and I wouldn't...

    UPS 1354 NTSB Companion Video

Chilling. :hairraise: I'm approaching the halfway mark in instrument training. These pilots had so many tools at their disposal but the extra information didn't help.... All they needed was VOR/DME and an altimeter.
