NARDO Ag operations at municipal airport

Just as dumb.....a year or so ago, bonanza pilot on long straight in, not using radio. Student and instructor turning final and were transmitting, flying a 152. Bonanza ran over them in the air, killed all three. Impossible to see thru the bottom of a bonanza .this was on POA. ( uncontrolled...

Is a chiropractor considered a physician?

An m.d. Is not to be confused with a chiropractor. The m.ds training is much more intensive including a residency! Easy to research.

NARDO Ag operations at municipal airport

Try reading the latest accident reports from the ntsb on ag aircraft. Lots of them. Many due to shoddy or Non existent maintenance ,poor or inadequate training, fatigue, misjudgment of height. Why bother with a radio!? Probably the least of their concerns.

Formation Flying Over A Congested Area?

Try watching the blue angels on graduation day at Annapolis, Maryland! They are in close formation, very very low directly over the town not once but several times. If there was a problem, they would take half the town out, not to mention the noise! Tremendous crowd which eats it up, myself...

    [NA] Bought an S4

I've owned a 2007 Porsche Carrera S, which had main bearing problems in many which was not backed up by Porsche so I sold it in good condition. I also leased a Porsche Cayman later , brand new, 2014 base model. (Important to remember that this model has more horsepower than many of the old 911s)...

    Disabled and flying.

Look up Douglas bader. He flew a spitfire, in combat, later , after the war, flew a multi for gulf oil. Both legs had been amputated due to an accident . Good book called " reach for the sky." ( about him)

    Losing one's confidence

Find an old pro instructor, ( verses a 300 hour wonder) I had the yips several times as I quit flying off and on over the years due to work and money. The same 10,000 hour commercial pilot - CFII, got me going quickly in both a 180 Cessna and a Mooney. He was a real pro and was amazing on...

Saw a V-22 Osprey practicing T/L at a GA airport

You get over it! your rant shows your totally ignorant of the Ospreys history and its sorry performance for the past twenty five years. You need to read more before engaging in an absurd arguement. The osprey is a barking dog. Even idiotic Cheney tried to cancel it to no avail. Grow up.

Saw a V-22 Osprey practicing T/L at a GA airport

When might that be? It's flown since the mid eightys,it's killed a bunch of military and one recently crashed in Yemen being totally destroyed by its crew after a " hard landing". It is very unstable low to the ground, wants to flip on its side. Does not function well in combat conditions due...

Considering Grumman Tiger - Grass Strip

This is true. A well groomed grass strip is no problem for any tri gear provided its in nice condition and well taken care of. (A mooney is fine on a strip like this for instance) . Wet, rutted, high spots, etc. your taking a chance. I've been in grass fields, strips in a cessna 180 or a...

Harrison Ford lands on a taxiway @ SNA

I think he did it because he could. Many many hours in tail draggers including a beautiful de hav beaver. The video shows him to be in perfect, full flap descent and missing the airliner by a good bit, certainly not a " near miss"!! He has lots a money and his two previous accidents were not...

    Which Twin?

I've had quite a bit of time in both a shrike and an MU2. Right seat only. The MU2 pilot had lots of Lear time and 14000 hours. An MU2 is a very serious airplane and a novice should get some real time in one rather than simply going to the school and then attempting to fly it alone. Insurance...

How is pulling a prop through safe?

In the case of the B29, they are pulling it thru to avoid hydraulic lock caused by engine oil draining into the bottom cylinders which can cause major damage. They are not pulling it thru to prime it. Same with any radial engine. I did the same with my stearman and 195.

    Aeronca 7C or Taylorcraft BC-12D?

It's true, neither has a starter. I've owned two taylorcrafts, both award winners. Great little airplanes and fun to fly. Nearly a glider. I learned in an 85 champ and later owned an 85 with a starter , transponder transceiver. Great little airplane. The 65 champ is pretty boring, underpowered...

How do you bring flaps up in a go around procedure?

This certainly reads like the revenge of henning! Why didn't he simply go and have the CFI demonstrate it? that's what he's hired for! " much ado about nothing" Shakespeare.

Time to Step Up to a Faster Plane?

As I said, I'm not a Mooney "expert" and only have about five hundred hours in both a super 21 and a 201. Sounds like your determined so go for it.
