This is what I use for some mowing. At less than 2 grand you can get a dependable, fixable and fun classic along with a 59" Woods. And it uses a magneto, like an airplane! And you can crank start it, like an airplane. ;)

My airplane’s cockpit is very comfortable, offers some great views and the controls and instruments are easy to access/read. It has everything I need. I don’t have to think about upgrades!

The Vintage Airplane Association defines vintage aircraft by year. 1903-1970. ‘Great vintage’ is subject to definition. You can get a darn nice champ for $30,000. Same is true for a Luscombe if you want to go faster.

You can get a great vintage (46) airplane for that amount.

What can you get for your Cherokee?

Many of us that fly classics would jump at a solid Culver for 12 grand. It has been on the market for over a month. I am sure that it has been evaluated by many who know these planes and has been passed over. Also, as with most classics, it was offered long before it was on Barnstormers.

These lawsuits and founded ‘litiphobia’ are killing GA as well as so many other freedoms that we’ve had. I fly anyway even though I may be sued or burned to death in a crash.

Young Eagles is a great way to have kids experience flying. Some of those kids get the bug and continue into flight training and/or aviation careers. We in GA need to promote GA because, unfortunately, our flying world is on the endangered list.

Congratulations. Even though your first school kept stringing you along, it did teach you fly well enough to pass the test. Has the oil temperature been fine after the fix?
