    Cessna 182P Shore Power

This is absolutely why this forum is so amazing. You pointed me right at the answer. It is on page 7-1 for me in the POH. I remembered the part that said, "A ground service plug receptacle may be installed to permit use of an external power source for cold weather starting and during length...

    Cessna 182P Shore Power

Negative on the solenoid click. That is actually the issue I'm trying to deal with if the solenoid is defective or if it is just not designed for shore power. I have power to the starter solenoid when plugged in. Thanks!

    Cessna 182P Shore Power

Has anyone had success using the external power port on a 182P for shore power or only to use to jump? I'm trying to determine if my solenoid inside the external plug is defective because it will not allow power to the aircraft from shore power.

Lost an engine today in a 421

If you are going to have an engine failure, on the ground is the best spot to brick it. I live by the motto "No matter how bad it is, it could have always been worse" and that seems to fit here.

    Low compression cylinder...contributes to vibrations?

I had a 20 in a 6 and didn't notice it at all and I'm very sensitive to monitoring that.

    Sky Acres (44N) Restaurant?

I learned to fly out of 44N in 1988 and the restaurant was always a treat. So glad to hear it is still operating.

    Battery Jump Packs

I carry https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FTG9PBK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 but I've never had the misfortune of needing it.

    Battery Jump Packs

I carry one but it is my absolute emergency backup. Instead, I have a set of jumper cables with the Cessna external power port on one side. For jumpers I now only carry this universal plug and jump unit. https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/elpages/plugnjump.php?clickkey=448886 The part is...

Anyone Using One of the Cockpit Companion Cockpit Organizer?

You are absolutely right. However, I have a need to stash our public safety radio head nearby during flight along with all our map books for dispatched calls. I hope I never have to touch an E6B ever again.

Anyone Using One of the Cockpit Companion Cockpit Organizer?

    It's a good idea I didn't suggest the $449 model from https://www.saircorp.com/home.php?printable=Y&cat=263

Anyone Using One of the Cockpit Companion Cockpit Organizer?

Curious if anyone in a Cessna has purchased and used one of the between seat organizers for the 172,177, 182, 205, or 206? See http://www.crosswindconcepts.com/www.crosswindconcepts.com/organizers.html# The price is more than I would expect at $279 but making better use of this space might be...

    C182 Engine Monitor

About four years ago I added the JPI 930 in my 182 and have never looked back. Replacing the fuel senders with the new digital ones gives me accurate quantity measurement to about half a gallon. The new engine monitor gives you a lot of information, you can download it, and use a service to...

    Starter woes...

I thought I'd seen everything in my 182P but that is a new one. I can't wait for someone to chime in with the correct answer.

Do You Carry a Spare Tire and Tube All the Time?

I've had to do the local tool purchase at an auto parts store. You can always put together a cheap tool kit. I bought this one from Sporty's and it has saved me so much grief. https://www.sportys.com/pilotshop/pilot-s-tool-kit.html

    1976 182P fuel venting issue

I fly a182P as well and I'm sure there are all sorts of technical tweaks that can be made and goodness knows the venting system was improved in later models. I've never had a vent blockage but on long flights, I have had an uneven burn. I actually just switch tanks and run on the right to burn...
