Really big motor yachts... something Ted might think about

Owner of a local company has a 130' yacht. Google says it has a 2500nm range. He also has a king air, so he doesn't have to ride on board for all 2500nm. Just meets it when it gets there.

Watch out for police DUI check points

Concur. My previous f350 was totaled after being hit by a 91 year old woman who should not have been on the road. Then, to really keep things interesting, her adult children sued me/my insurance company. Meanwhile, I'm out a truck because, silly me, I thought right turn signal in the right turn...

Just thought it was neat the way the sun hit the mud. Maybe a little ice mixed in on the mud.

Banning drivers who don't live in your city?

My opinion is that if money outside of town money goes into any type of road maintenance, then this is unjust. That said, I don't have business there, and doubt I ever will... So I'll sleep tonight, regardless.

Banning drivers who don't live in your city?

Tim, Did you just use one post to say you agree with why they're doing what they're doing, and then the next to say you do exactly that thing? o_O I mean I like it... I'm just making sure I'm not misunderstanding.

But with a better antenna...assumption be that I should be able to hear traffic/ATIS/AWOS from my house?

    Handheld Radios

I'm saying I heard nothing. Which could be because there was no traffic at either airport...so I've not really proven anything there. But definitely couldn't get ATIS/AWOS which I know should be broadcasting, just don't know that I am capable, or even should be capable, of receiving it with my...

5 related adults dead in Cessna 340 crash

Whether it has anything to do with crash being discussed or not, I'm struck by the sunny skies in the background of the charred wreckage. It really reinforces that various clichés about "it'll be sunny when they find the wreckage", etc. Again, whether or not that had anything to do with this...

    Handheld Radios

Yeah, I realize it was poorly phrased when I say break through, I meant broke through the static. Was wide open. Though it didn't take much squelch to cut the static, so is that in indicator that there isn't a bunch of "noise"?

    Handheld Radios

ATIS at class C nor AWOS at home airport broke through. From there tried CTAF at home airport and approach for class C. Heard nothing. That's ~35' AGL (which at my house means ~38' MSL).

Not a currency trader, so I guess my statement could go to your choice of currencies that aren't linked 1:1 with gold/oil/rhino tears/etc. But, it would seem a stretch to say that the USD is just as arbitrary in valuation as bitcoin, which was more my point.

Anyone looking for a fun project/present/airplane rifle?

Y'all are dumping on the man's hi point 10mm I have owned a 10mm 1911 from the CZ/Dan Wesson/ghost custom shop for 6-7 years. Been back to ghost twice and then finally to a smith in NC to get it to run halfway consistently. In the same timeframe, my Taurus single stack .45 compact has run...

Anyone looking for a fun project/present/airplane rifle?

I personally don't care to build one or even really accessorize mine, but I have been surprised at how enjoyable I find the shooting...so if building one gets you there cheaply, or you have fun piecing it together exactly as you choose, I can see the allure. I'm only $425 into mine, ready to...

How about an antenna for use at the house? I have the Yaesu 550 and wouldn't mind taking advantage of my house's tall roofline to mount some sort of antenna if I knew what would work well, or if it is even realistic to receive well at my location. I'm almost exactly 30miles from 2 different...

Anyone looking for a fun project/present/airplane rifle?

Not just AR's... I have projects ranging from motorcycles to cars to jet skis that all started with that fateful (and flawed, if you ask my wife) line of reasoning... "I have that 350 out of the truck we scrapped... I should find something to put it in..." Fast forward, I've pulled a running...

Anyone looking for a fun project/present/airplane rifle?

I'm just shocked at how much ar pricing has fallen all the way around. That's certainly not a bad deal, but it's really not that far off of some of the deals you see from time to time on complete guns. I never really wanted one and stumbled into a great deal on one during one of the various...

Yeah, but that assumes that you got in when you thought about it, stayed in until last week, and got out before it started dumping... Lots of assumptions that I'm not sure happen without hindsight. I personally can't wrap my head around the fact it's not really tied to anything. It's value is...

    55" Samsung for $498 - Is there a catch?

Get the exact model number. If you can only find it for sale at Walmart, it's likely a spec just for them. If you find it elsewhere, it's likely a standard model. Walmart moves a ton of volume. They have pricing leverage others don't. But they also have the leverage to get stuff built to their...

    New Car For the Wife

My sister in law has a Highlander. Loves it. I do not know the year. Most expensive thing that I have heard them talk about in the maintenance department : somehow the sunroof glass actually came out/flew off the car. Smashed into bits on the shoulder. That one turned expensive fast. My wife...
