Yes, I've heard that water and shelter from extreme temps are top priority. Louisiana is warm enough almost always to avoid any risk of exposure, but heat stroke is likely. I carry bottled water in the trunk of the car. Gonna get 5 life straws. Been meaning to do that; gotta get it done...

Sounds like the OP is describing what most would consider more along the lines of what I would call a bug-out bag, but carried as EDC. I always conceived of EDC as implying what you carry on your person in a pocket or on a belt, stuff you literally carry around all day. I guess a well-stocked...

Yeah, that's a lot to carry. Colt DS, Streamlight Microstream, Gerber Mini Paraframe, iphone, wallet, keys, that covers most situations. Leatherman pocket tool is a good ratio of utility to weight/bulk.
