Saw a man get tazed and arrested today

This appears to be the standard approach. One can use, to defend another, such force as you could justifiably use to defend oneself. In practice, it's very tricky territory, since a person who happens upon an apparent altercation between strangers may have a tragically inaccurate perception as...

Dipole Antenna Question - Attn Jim Weir

Somewhat off topic (okay, way off), but does anyone have a suggestion for a good SW antenna (better than random wire) for a Tecsun PL-660?

    Survival kit: Buy or Build?

I would add (or I missed earlier mention of) a compass, insect repellant, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, a radio, and small field glasses or spotting scope. In some locations, add bear spray. Medical information bracelet or card could be useful. Survival book, too.

Quick question about the criminal charges that the Gyrocopter Pilot committed

He successfully piloted his craft quite a distance, apparently without a certificate. He reminds me of a case in which a guy was charged with practicing law without a license. Allegedly, something was amiss in his bar application. In defending against the charge, he represented himself...

Saw a man get tazed and arrested today

Actually, all States have such exceptions. For example, Louisiana Revised Statutes section 14 provides in pertinent part: §18. Justification; general provisions The fact that an offender's conduct is justifiable, although otherwise criminal, shall constitute a defense to prosecution for...

    Memorial day

Took my seven-year-old to the WWII museum yesterday for the umpteenth time (his request as a reward for stellar grades). He has a very clear concept of the sacrifice of the fallen. Later, we'll all watch a pertinent movie -- maybe Mrs Miniver or a John Wayne vehicle. To those who served...

Judge rules for GA airports over local govt

Whether it gets appealed is entirely up to the non-prevailing party. The mere fact of a prior appeal does not usually make a subsequent appeal less likely. Other factors are more predictive. In many cases, the appellate court narrows the issues to be considered on remand. This narrowed...

Judge rules for GA airports over local govt

Certainly a long trial. This is one of those cases that make a judge's job interesting. The rest of his docket is drug court. Quite a change of pace.

Hacker Briefly Flies Plane Sideways After Accessing Engine Systems, FBI Says

I would think that if anyone could control commercial flights remotely, the airlines could, and if they could, we would not have had the recent commercial crash.

Texas set to pass open carry ..

Louisiana ostensibly has open carry, and is generally very pro-2A, has a constitutional pro-2A provision, and calls itself the "Sportsman's Paradise" (read: hunter), but I've never seen OC here (outside the bayou), including in cowboy-esque Texas border towns. (Lots of CC happening, despite the...

    Anti-argh.

Wow!!! Was anything put in writing? My spidey sense is screaming "statute of frauds!" But it's probably just jealousy. Amazing score. You must have done something good in a prior life. Enjoy the booty!
