The Bahamas that few have ever seen---trip report from the fringe of civilization!!

Not 100 yards later, I saw a site that i never thought I'd see here. Footprints in the sand. What the hell? Someone else might have had the same idea as me. Uhhhhh. Being that these were well above the high tide line, there was no telling how old they were. Mayaguana had been dry lately...

The Bahamas that few have ever seen---trip report from the fringe of civilization!!

Moving along, towards the east end of Wreck Bay, I was already on pace for a 19 minute mile! Holy crap, I never though I'd be that fast on relatively soft sand with a 25-30 pound load! I knew that pace would drop because very soon would be the rocky iron shore section with what last time seemed...

The Bahamas that few have ever seen---trip report from the fringe of civilization!!

You should go! You only live once, and honestly, there is no place in the world like the southern Bahamas IMO. Even by GA pilot standards its remote there, let alone average travelers! I mean.....where else in the world can you be on a tropical beach, 11 miles from the nearest road, and 66...

Heck..........I'm just going to post my 2nd installment now. Why wait!! Bahamas Day 1: April 2nd After 21 months since my last vacation to the Bahamas, it was finally time to return again. Because the plane that I rented was not going to be available until 3:00 that afternoon, I was going...

The Bahamas that few have ever seen---trip report from the fringe of civilization!!

OK Guys and gals!! Here is the intro video to this trip! The other videos will come when I post those days. After months, even years of anticipation, I FINALLY am ready to publish a trip report documenting my journey the absolute fringe of civilization-----and back again to the NE Shore of...

    Bahamas. Totally.

Ohhhhh..........don't you worry! Not only will I post a ton of photos, I'll also be posting a TON of full HD video from my two treks on Mayaguana's eastern north shore (Long Bay) as well as the northern part of Great Inagua's East shore. These are the Bahamas equivalent of Denali and Everest...

    Bahamas. Totally.

haha! Yes I did that. I was too lazy to figure out how to work my new phone. Don't worry, the actual photo was taken in 10 megapixels, and RAW!

    Bahamas. Totally.

Here is a tease photo of that beach that is 11 miles from the nearest road, and 65 miles from the nearest town, on the northern end of Great Inagua's east shore! In my opinion, this is the Bahamas equivalent of Camp 4 on the South Col of Everest at 26,000 ft !!

    Bahamas. Totally.

I actually cleared customs in Nassau (of all places) since I'd made arrangements to meet up with a member on the Tripadvisor Forum there. Surprisingly, clearing customs in Nassau was as painless as its been in Great Harbor Cay or North Eleuthera. Avgas has been very reliable for me in Great...

    Bahamas. Totally.

Excellent photos!! I just returned from the far SE Bahamas (Mayaguana and Great Inagua) last week, where I ventured where few Bahamains have ever been, let alone outsiders, and visited an amazing beach almost 60 NM from civilization! I'll post an entire trip report with photos and video in the...

Cloudbase Engineering website launch! Aviation Gopro Mounts

Mark has been VERY helpful to me with the mounts that I have purchased from him. They are what I have used in all of my flying in IMC videos. Make sure you use a 5 or 6 stop ND filter with your camera when its on the mount, as that way, a lot of the vibration will be eliminated.

Would you travel with your family?

I see what you are saying, but the looking at the NTSB reports of accidents like that, something along those lines is so, so rare. One is far more likely to be the victim of a violent crime or die in a house fire, that to be killed when the PIC is incapacitated. Sure, it COULD happen, but we...

30 vs 60 Frames per Second

OK everyone, I can give you definitive answers to these questions, as some of you know, I do a lot of inflight recording with filters. Hands down, absolutely film at 60 FPS instead of 30. On a bright sunny day, a 64X (6 step) ND filter works perfectly for bluring out the prop, while only...

Big Airline push to Privatize ATC - User Fees

On that note, with a system like that in Europe, I always wonder how many guys over there fly in IMC without talking to anyone, with their Xper turned off. What a way to increase safely:rolleyes::rolleyes:

    Pilots Bill of Rights

Which is why it makes my blood boil when so many think that user fees would somehow be a better system:mad2:
