    Best GoPro Settings

Been. Using go pro since version 2. Presently use one in front of me using a suction mount on the windshield and the previous owner of my plane put a glue mount on the wing and use that. Get great video from both and no glare. Major issue was recording time but fixed that with off market...

    Cost for Class 3 Medical?

My AME charges 200. Personally, compared to what I spend on other aviation related items it's not too bad. My shop charges 135 an hour for labor, my plumber 150, my electrician 150, the guy building my dock 140. None I f these guys have the education my AME has the stress. Oh BTW my lawyer...

    Idalia

Saw my plane this afternoon. In the maintenance hangar and though the storm did no damage the annual is going to damage my wallet as bad as a cat 5 hurricane . At least if it was hurricane damage insurance would have helped out. Not so with annual. At least 3 more weeks til I fly it again.

What's the best way to start instrument training?

Agree with above. For what it's worth, I do not think desk top simulator time is not a good substitute for actual flying IFR. It helps with being familiar with the procedure, but in the real plane a lot more is happening. Working under foggles with a CFII is close but real IMC is a different...

    Boat or Airplane

All joking aside I think the decision depends on what your goals are. If you are looking for a way to get from one place to another quickly then a plane is the way to go. If you are looking to have a day soaking up the weather, go fishing, swimming, and enjoy the outdoors a boat may better...

    How often do you fly?

About 60 or so hrs a year. My plane is now in annual he'll and have. Ot flown in almost a month. Not counting time on my simulator, but landing a 206 on an aircraft carrier was cool.

    Is “reaching your breaking point”

I would suggest he just did what many think about doing. Most fortunately only think about it.

What to do post ER visit?

Not sure if this is really the case as I am not an AME. I would think that the issue here is not some code, which by the way is more often than not assigned by someone who is not a doctor or what is colloquially known as a physician extender, but the reason the pilot was seen and evaluated...

    Unequal fuel draw

My 182 always did this but never to the extreme you are describing. I now have a 206 and it does the same thing, but again never to the extreme you are describing. I full up when I am have used about 60 gallons, so about 27 gallons remaining, and my right tank typically takes about 5 to 10...

    Concerns about my next medical

Did you ask them the questions you are asking us arm-chair amateurs. I would think they would be the best to advise you what you need to do and what the consequences may be.

Video of C-152 Stall/Spin @ Quebec City (CYQB)

I looked at flight aware and the last flight for this plane was two days prior. I seems to me this would suggest that it was a regular take-off. The 152 has a 30 degree flap setting for the preflight, and another possibility would be that the flaps were at 30 degrees for the preflight and...

    Concerns about my next medical

Take this for what it is worth, and I am not sure I am right, but from what I see from my research, because the initial criminal charge was alcohol related you needed to report it to the FAA within 60 days of the charge. Again, I maybe wrong, but if not I think you will need to consult an...

Video of C-152 Stall/Spin @ Quebec City (CYQB)

As many have mentioned flaps are too much(according to what I see in the POH flaps 0 to 10 and this plane seemed to have a lot more than that. Cannot comment on use of ailerons, or elevator as cannot tell from my reviews of the video(both you-tube, and twitter) but from the video his attitude...

    Loss of medical insurance

Not familiar with the way the airline industry offers disability insurance which is what I think you are talking about. In my profession, different companies offer different options: from no provided coverage(ie. you are on your own) to fairly substantial policies(ie. your covered for a...

    Selling Attitude

I think it depends on what your intentions are in selling. The aircraft market has its ups and downs. If you can wait on the sale then sticking to what you think it is worth may make sense. If you cannot wait and it is not selling then you need to figure out why. Are you overpriced, does the...

(Comfortably) Buying a plane without a prebuy?

I have bought two planes and sold one. Did prebuys with both and the prebuys more than paid for themselves by finding minor squawks that allowed me to negotiate a slightly lower price to cover the needed repairs. None of the issues were deal breakers, but even if they did not pay for...
