    Expectations for Instructors and Schedules

Problem solved. The first step I did was that I contacted the other flight school. At first I was a bit doubtful, as I am currently in the Cessna Pilot Kit program, and this flight school is not part of that program. I thought about that for maybe 30 sends and decided "Who cares. Millions of...

    Gopro question.

I believe that is what he has, but he'd have to check himself. If it's newer than a year or two, I'd be willing to bet it's one of those. If it's vintage, it may not work, but again, it may. I don't think the charging ports have ever changed, and that's all it plugs into.

What's your opinion on this video?

I had a very similar experience. Graduated in 1999 in Northeast Ohio. Public school system. -CPR and First Aid was part of physical education in both Middle School and High School. -Cooking, home care, sewing, and basic infant care were part of home economics in Middle School. -The...

    Gopro question.

There is an official GoPro 3.5mm mic adaptor. It plugs into the charging port. Works great.

    Passenger Brief

Friend of mine shared a bad passenger experience. Does the preflight, briefing, everything is normal. Gets out to the runway and just as he puts the power in, the passenger (who has his seat all the way forward) plants his feet flat on the floor, making his knees the stopping limit for the yoke...

Corvette kills Cessna in Spanish Fork...

Agreed the insurance wouldn't be able to not pay out to whoever was on the receiving end. But they sure should be able to walk away from whoever did the damage. Example...bank robber slams into a car, totals it, hurts some people. I wonder if the insurance could take care of the injured and...

    Expectations for Instructors and Schedules

Lots of good stuff here. Thanks for all the great feedback. I certainly sympathize with instructors, recognize they have families, and to each is own on how they work. I don't expect anyone to work a 24 hour shift. My question was more along the lines of if my expectations were off track in...

    Expectations for Instructors and Schedules

Have spoken with them, as they are the ones I'm trying to schedule with. As far as I am aware, they are not required to abide by the school's hours, and are permitted to instruct outside the normal operating hours. They just choose not to work during the times I am available. I am not aware of...

Spirit Airlines Capt and wife found dead Thur AM

You're probably correct. Given the apparent level of danger and risk, I'm at least glad the precautions are issued.

    Expectations for Instructors and Schedules

I have had a difficult time getting my schedule to mesh well with instructors. It's not just one...it's multiple. The first one assigned to me works only Monday-Friday 0800-1600. The second one is a little better, but starts later than I'd like to, and only works part of the weekend. Another...

Corvette kills Cessna in Spanish Fork...

Is that for most illegal activities? Like if you're involved in a bank robbery and crash your getaway car, or hauling drugs and get in a wreck even if you're not UI? Or is it only moving type violations such as drag-racing, etc?

It's not just the strength, but that it is toxic via absorption, inhalation, and ingestion, even after the person is deceased. Notices have been issued that deceased bodies can actually contaminate depending on concentration. SCBA and Level A HazMat PPE is advised until the concentrations are...

Is that even covered on insurance? I heard sometime at one time about illegal activity and insurance in some cases not honoring coverage. Any truth to that?

Spirit Airlines Capt and wife found dead Thur AM

Huge increase in the past few years in EMS calls. Louisville had some 50 overdose calls in 24 hours or something like that last month in which fentanyl was highly suspect. Big news in the fire/EMS world...narcan (the antidote given to OD victims) doesn't work so well in these cases, and fentanyl...

    Pet Peeves

I share this frustration. Worst part about holidays (or buying anything, really) is opening package after package of things that have been designed as challenges to get open. Adding to the madness is when the packaging costs more than the item itself!

    DIY Oxygen setup questions

Very similar scenario now. We have our compressor at the station, and a rescue truck that has a cascade system on it. That is all for our breathing air. We have a few small oxy bottles for medical calls. If we use up ours, we swap with them for a full bottle, usually off an ambulance. Ours don't...

LHR and British Airways Experience (rant)

To each their own. I've been through LHR 3 times in the past 9 months. This last one was the worst, but the other two experiences weren't exactly peachy. I do strongly prefer FRA, but what works for me may not work for others. Even removing the security, transfers, and all that jazz that some...
