    Ted, you're 30 years too late. From where you are, you used to be able to drive up to the TWA overhaul base at MCI and ask if they'd let you rummage through their tires that were headed back for recapping. DC9 tires made excellent tractor tires for use with a heavy front loader.

    Way too much analysis. If you join a club then you have lots of other people voting on how to spend your money. If you want to control your costs, find a plane that fits your budget and buy it yourself. I doubt you'd do anywhere near this much ciphering before buying a late model used pickup...

    with something like a drawbar-pulled brush hog, etc, if you turn too tight it's not likely to flip over the tractor, it's more likely to flip the implement up and onto the back of the tractor. Either way you can get dead if you don't have a ROPS

    Had that happen a few weeks ago. Not a bag but got a pitot full of fur at rotation speed taking off from the cabin site. Briefly thought i'd land on the long runway in town but by flying the aoa indicator as primary it made for an easy landing at the farm.
