    Support Plane Down

I’ve been watching the thread on the SA forum, AVCOM, where it was first reported. Speculation makes it appear it could have been an engine failure and spin, as pics of the prop show little damage. The terrain suggests a successful landing without power was do able, especially with the level of...

Tell your congressman to make registration data private

You can still run an N number, but there is a way to block your N# from third party companies like Flight Aware and the like. Just follow the directions, email or snail mail the FAA. See below https://www.fly.faa.gov/ASDI/asdi.html You can block that no one sees it or make it accessible to...

Tell your congressman to make registration data private

In NY, you go to your local PCT, ask them to run a plate, they will probably ask you for a reason. They will enter your request and personal. Information into the log book and run the plate, giving you the information. It’s public info, just not easily accessible.

    Cessna 150 Rotax Conversion

Looking back on this thread, it appears you are the only one, well and the Capt. that have negative opinions on Rotax engines. It’s also evident that The majority responding, me included, couldn’t care less and are happy flying behind a Rotax. To each, his or her own. It’s ok to agree to...

80 year old student pilot wins AOPA Super Cub

I bet that Cub will trade hands sooner than later. God only knows what the insurance premium will be for an octogenarian.

    Cessna 150 Rotax Conversion

The Diamond Da-20 A-1, was originally powered by the 80hp Rotax. They were one of the first standard category a/c or any category a/c for that matter to use a Rotax, well before they became popular in the US. That was part of the problem, no one in the US embraced them and the DA-20 was reborn...

    Cessna 150 Rotax Conversion

Both the CT and Remos were brandie new aircraft. I took an extended demo flight in both, years ago after an AOPA expo, when AOPA expo’s were actually yearly events, not the crap fly-ins they have nowadays. They were nice aircraft, but not as stable as I thought they would be. I found the CT very...

    Cessna 150 Rotax Conversion

I’ve got to disagree here. I’ve flown the CT, Remos, Sky Arrow, RV-12 and the Sling. Never had an issue. Flew the first two in Florida and experienced 90+ degrees with long warmups and didn’t have overheating issues. NOW say that about my Tiger (Heat issues) and I’d agree with you 100%.

    Cessna 150 Rotax Conversion

How is adding a modern, efficient and proven engine to an excellently designed aging airframe, be considered a downgrade? The ROTAX TBO, By The Way, is 2000 hours.

    "Stay with me..." frequency change.

I think you misunderstood my response. I’m good with a short transmission once on the new frequency, do you agree? To switch frequency’s and not acknowledge is where I have an issue.

    "Stay with me..." frequency change.

You’re kidding right? He AND you, need to confirm you are both hearing each other. As stated previously, radio coverage isn’t forever. You loose him and can’t get him on the new frequency, well, I’d want to know we have each other, especially if over lousy terrain or at night.

    Air-to-Air Cherokee Six

I agree. Jack needs to up his standards, as to which aircraft he photographs . To the owner, a little soap and degreaser goes a long way, especially before a phot flight. Seriously, beautiful shots, wish I could have Jack photo my bird.

    Name This Aircraft

Also known as the CASA Saeta Jet. I believe Travolta owned one at one time. The newer version is the CASA C-101, Aviojet, flown as a trainer and light attack jet, by Spain.
