    Shipping stuff to OSH

Well, Troy. Here's hopin' it makes it...since I'm sleeping in that tent. :) It looks like you made the right decision, though...sweet. I can't wait.

I'll eat for you on Wednesday, Troy, if you want. :cheerswine: That means I get to eat twice, right?

Number of Pilots Dimenish, but CFI's go up! X-post

So...does anyone know if these numbers are snapshots (a point in time), or do they reflect all during the year. For example, are they showing the number of student pilot licenses issued that year...or the number a student pilots on a certain date. I ask because that changes the ramifications of...

    Who wants a lift?

Now that is funny. Kate, I wouldn't let him, er...uh, that person forget it either. Good stuff.

    Who wants a lift?

Inside joke, perhaps? I'm new to the family, guys...please explain...I want to laugh, too. :)

    Who wants a lift?

Looks like I'm in! I talked to Kent tonight...and right now it looks like I'll be flying in to MKE on Tuesday night, and Kent will pick me up at MWC on Wednesday morning...and Kent convinced me that camping is the way to go...so I'm going for it. This is my first OSH trip, and I'm excited...

    Student Pilot AudioCast

Yes...unfortunately, there were a couple of omissions and typos/mistakes in the "article", but they did not come from me. As I noted in my latest audio episode, I answered her question about motivations which included some of my influences, and I quote: Unfortunately, it looks like the...

    Student Pilot AudioCast

Episode 9 and 10 are out. 9 is an interview with our very own PJ. Episode 10 is about a very important solo flight I took. Also...exciting news. The podcast got a half page blurb in AOPA Flight Training magazine, July issue, page 14, in the Training Notes and News section! Wow...who woulda...

    Hello.

Ahh...Mike. Welcome. Keep the goal in sight and work toward it. I waited something like 25 years to start my training (once I decided one day I would be a pilot when I was 10 :)). I'm in the middle of it now...and loving every minute of it. Good luck...hang around. The hangar flying here...

    Student Pilot AudioCast

Fog...I think that's a good move on saving up. Flying 3 times a week is certainly helping me progress faster, and I'm sure will cost me less money in the long run. BTW, stay the course...its worth it. I waited soooo long. BTW, everyone, I just released episode 8 as I document heading into...

    Realistic Distraction

Awesome! BTW, wasn't your first unsupervised solo (besides the door popping open) one of the most memorable things so far? It was during that flight (about a week and a half ago for me) that I started to feel like a "real" pilot...and was actually completely in command. How liberating...

Maybe this really does lengthen your lifespan

Ya...I've noticed this, too. I've got a supercharged mini cooper S, and I drive like an old lady coming home from the airport. Since I've started flight training, my average MPG has gone from about 25 to about 27.5. I didn't put the two together until you mentioned this...I just thought my...

Maybe this really does lengthen your lifespan

Hmm, I have done a wee bit of sailing many years ago...it was enjoyable. I get my one of my "other" peace fixes from Scuba Diving...now that I think about it...its not all that different from flying...just a little less noise (although, contrary to what most people think, definately not silent)...

    Simulating High DA/ Weight Takeoffs

I've got an idea. Just fly to Phoenix on a July afternoon when its 116 degrees F. It's already mother-scratchin' hot out here and its only May...just did an afternoon flight today, and had to get that off my chest. Sorry...back to the experts.

    Mountain flying virgin!

so that's what you guys call it. I have a customer in ABQ, and when I visited last, us out-of-towners started calling it the "Querque" (Pronounced "Kerky"). Oh...and I know nothing of mountain flying (had to attempt to stay on topic). Sorry.

Maybe this really does lengthen your lifespan

We all know that stress kills eventually...right? Well I just had to relate my experience today to some people I knew would understand. Work has been killing me. I'm totally stressed, its near the end of my company's fiscal year, lot's of stuff going on, sales to make, 't''s to cross, etc...
