We have a gate that is for "Through The Fence" access to a public airport that we would like to make powered. Opening is approximately 60' and the gate is in 2 sections that roll/slide opposite directions along the fence. The access is from private property and is only for a handful of property...

    Ovation Ultra Take Off/Landing

Not an Ovation but watching the places this guy takes his Mooney is entertaining at the very least! I believe it's an M20C. https://player.vimeo.com/video/44636681 https://www.youtube.com/user/piperpainter/videos

Cheapest jet that isn't a sonex

I always thought a Temco Super Pinto would be the ticket. Only a handful ever made it into civilian hands and even fewer turned into Super Pinto's. http://www.airbum.com/pireps/PirepTemcoPinto.html

Fuel at $10, how much will you fly?

According to the chart I'm looking at the price of a barrel of oil hit approximately $100 on 2/24, the day of the invasion. It peaked on 3/7 at $130.50. Right now as I'm writing this, the price is $94.42 a barrel. So fuel shouldn't be up much, if any at all, from the price 2 weeks ago. And yet...

Free RSS Reader + Social Media?

Does anyone have a recommendation for a free Windows RSS Reader that can also follow social media, especially Twitter? I thought I found one, FlowReader, but it looks like they are having problems. It would be nice to have everything in one place AND in chronological order. Most social media...

    Amphibious C-130

Did they do anything special to those 47's to dunk their rear in the, I'm assuming, salt water often?

    Amphibious C-130

I think this is actually a CH-46 but they are dunking the back of that machine pretty deep in the water.

    Rockwell Commander 700?

I never knew these existed. Pressurized but not very fast. Only 49 built. Anyone ever seen one of these in the wild? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuji/Rockwell_Commander_700 The ad might be a scam or maybe just selling to collect hangar rent? $6038...

    Metal detecting…….Do you?

I'm not sure where you live or what you fly but if the Idaho back-country is doable, then there are plenty of places to prospect. Most anywhere along the Salmon River and it's tributaries is gold country. Some desert locales may be better for nugget detecting. Arizona and Nevada have gold and...

    Redefining ugly

In the movie Beyond the Thunderdome didn't that plane take off with like 6 adults and several children?

Thinking about a dual sport/adventure Motorcycle

Have you looked at the Yamaha Ténéré 700? At the very least you need to watch these videos to see how Pol Tarres (hardcore trials and enduro competitor) rides this thing. This guy rides the Ténéré 700 in places I would have to be careful walking. But your Italian bike looks like fun too!

(NA) Places for Spring Break Snow Skiing

If it were me I'd plan it around snow as much as possible. While long term forecasts aren't always accurate, this is the snow forecast for the 2021-2022 ski season. They are forecasting above average snowfall for the Pacific Northwest and the Northern Rockies. Many Colorado resorts are showing...

    Thinking About Kids Dirt Bikes

I'm in the same boat as you with a 7 yo wanting a motorcycle. I grew up on motorcycle having my first one at 5 yo but now there are some quality electric motorcycles that are very nice. I've been looking seriously at OSET. These aren't the cheap Chinese electric bikes that seem to be everywhere...

    I feel weird (plane market)

I feel weird too as I'd like to purchase a plane, but at these prices it feels way over inflated. I keep hoping that this is a bubble but what if this is the new norm or prices just continue to go up from here?

    Is there a dive prop?

Not if the blade angles are different.

    Is there a dive prop?

I think what you need is a hybrid aircraft propulsion system with integrated regenerative braking for descents. Then you could just look for massive updrafts to charge your batteries and then continue on your way.
