Dual nav radios no longer needed?

Good point. No second nav needed for that one though.

Dual nav radios no longer needed?

It's a 340. One of the radios is a 750 and the other is a GTR, so they are much different units regardless. When would you use an ILS if you had an LPV approach? To my knowledge there are no airports left with both an ILS and no LPV approach, but I don't know how to definitively verify this.

Dual nav radios no longer needed?

G500 TXi has a GPS in it.

Dual nav radios no longer needed?

In the process of replacing a panel, I'm trying to find a reason to install a second nav radio in an aircraft that will have two WAAS units and one nav radio. I can see needing one nav as a backup to a GPS outage, but I can't come up with a reason to need a second one without resorting to...

    GWX-70/75

Just noticed I didn't actually ask a question. I'm interested in how it compares with an older radar. Trying to decide on the Garmin unlock fee vs replacing with a GWX 75. The 75 has sector scanning, and it uses less power and no warmup, but I not sure of the practical value of those.

    GWX-70/75

Does anyone have experience with the newer Garmin radars (GWX-70/75/80)? Looking at an airplane with an RDR-2000 and having a hard time finding PIREPS, and info on deciding to replace it. Either will be used with a GTN750/G500TXi.

    Any DA42-VI Owners?

Thanks for all of the great information Tim. I was reading that the Continental versions have beefed up a few components to get the higher TBR, and replaced the clutch with a flywheel. I think we are looking for a late model NG with radar and built-in O2. Now if we can only find a hangar wide...

    Any DA42-VI Owners?

Thanks Tim, I believe the 1.7L are Theilerts and not the CDs. My understanding is Diamond keeps some of the older airframes they were forced by owners to buy after the Theilert debacle in reserve for certified pre-owned NGs that are made from the old airframes on request. Not sure how true that...

    Any DA42-VI Owners?

I had an account with a rental tail that was deactivated (for inactivity), and when I tried to reactivate it I said I wasn't an owner no knowing that was against their rules. I'm not sure I want to do anything below board given how small the community is. It seems like there's maybe half a dozen...

    Any DA42-VI Owners?

Thanks Tim, I should have said "share their airplane for an hour," as I've never flown a -VI (only the L360). This would be in a partnership as well, and since there aren't nearly as many SR22's (the other option), I was hoping to find one locally or nearby. My biggest question is probably...

    Any DA42-VI Owners?

Investigating the DA42 for a potential purchase, and there don't appear to be any in Denver. If there are any owners who would be willing to share their experience please let me know.

    For Sale Stratus 2S

I'll need to delete it then, it is an eBay auction I thought some folks might want to bid on. I don't see a way to delete my post, is that something an Admin can do?

    For Sale Stratus 2S

Bought a 2S right before the Stratus 3 came out, selling my 2S to trade up. Used it on one trip, nearly new. https://www.ebay.com/itm/283070700458?ul_noapp=true

Wanted: Club Membership KAPA - DENVER, CO

I think anyone who runs a retail business has stories about unreasonable customers. That's not a good reason to treat the rest of them poorly. Glad you haven't had any issues.

    DA-42

There's now a used VI with 333 hours listed on controller for about $100,000 over new price. Confusing.

    DA-42

I don’t think a club would work because of the taper, the legroom, and the over wing entry. The back two seats appear to be smaller than even a bonanza, especially the headroom.

    DA-42

The cabin isn’t as nice as a 22, no arguments, but the VI does close the gap a bit which is why I’m really waiting for it as nothing compares to the visibility. I like the flying computer aspect, sort of like a Tesla in that the simplicity is the result of a lot of complex tech. Hadn’t heard...

    DA-42

Great insight. What are the flaws you find? I’m getting my MEL in the 100LL variant and other than a cabin that’s a bit small don’t note anything significant.
