Looks like she had been a transition training pilot with them for a couple of years. This may be the same pilot who is a platinum certified trainer for cirrus and has - according to ferried in Europe and even to Hawaii. -cirruspilots,org and theflightacademy.com -here's hoping she heals...

    Dating Your Flight Instructor?

... aaaand we have arrived. I guess my anticipation of it made it even funnier. Sheesh, I sure hope she is not on this forum... If she is,... and she gives you all kinds of grief over it... while smiling... and doesn't tell you to take a hike.... that would be: World. Class.

    Cessna 172 Down at KBNA

Really heavy fog where I was this morning. The people that pilot those weird wingless mechanisms were advised to "drive safe" this morning. I might venture a guess that, if the fog was around at the time - and was dense, that between the fog and the runway lights, it just didn't register...

    Cessna 172 Down at KBNA

Rest in Peace. So sorry for all who are affected. Reports that it was based out of Ontario. Anyone else confirm? C-number is published in media, but I'll let someone else post it here. Reports are that it may have crashed earlier in the morning (we had heavy fog in the Nashville area -...

    Flying and Guns

^^What bqmassey said. Though we stand the chance of logic-ing ourselves to death. I have been thinking this as I watched this thread unfold. Everyone has a right to do as they are comfortable, and I am for each of us getting adequate training and doing what we think is right. As far as...

    False report from aircraft

This makes me wonder if there is not more to the story than meets the eye... Might the authorities be concerned that this could be a test of emergency resource distraction tactics? Hopefully not. Feel free to give me heck on that one.

Looking for some good Aviation movies?

Always - as mentioned above. Richard Dreyfus played the deceased pilot. They were firefighting pilots. Hmmmm,,,,,, I had the biggest crush on Holly Hunter with her country accent and spunky attitude. I was young. :)

on Synthroid & Possible starting HRT ... medical?

I have wanted to fly my whole life. Just this last weekend I was lost in a dreamworld hearing my great uncle talk about his days as a B17 pilot. He doesn't volunteer the stories, but when I ask, he opens up, and I am transported to a dreamworld as he talks - albeit without the terrifying...

I'm OK, but plane is broke.

I'd like to see pics of the end of the runway as well. Is it banded in concrete? From the looks of that wheel, any asphalt "corner" would certainly show the point of contact. Shouldn't you also be able to see where the forks touched down?

    Shingles

Had them when I was 18. They came, they went away. I found out later what they were. Painful little buggers.

    Arctic Air Cooler...

Rock salt actually allows the ice to become liquid at or very close to freezing. In ice cream-making, that gives you more surface area/ better heat transfer while at or near 32deg. Added to ice after the fact, it won't lower the temp of ice - just makes the freezing point of h2o lower. So...
