Governor signs ban on 100LL into law

"Interstate Commerce" and international trade are clearly defined as responsibilities of the FEDERAL government under the Constitution. When planes fly from another state or another nation, they are operating under FEDERAL regulation, not state regulation.

Governor signs ban on 100LL into law

Governor signs ban on 100LL into law

Yes, lead needs to be removed from use wherever practicable. I think that that majority agree with this premise, so it's a matter of how we accomplish it. The question at hand is whether a single state should attempt to force regulation of an interstate/international industry. The FAA, NTSB...

    Upholstery / interior re-do’s. Cost?

Yeah, true...but: A guy in town has a J35 with tip tanks for sale, and has made it available at what I believe is a stupid-low price. It needs a bunch of cosmetic work, but it looks to me like a good time-builder while I'm building ratings, and with the tip tanks it has the range I need. If...

Governor signs ban on 100LL into law

It sounds like there's a business opportunity here for every FBO that sits right along the opposite side of the CA border. It reminds me of the Southern beer stores that sit right next to the border of a dry county. Highest volume business in the area.....

    Upholstery / interior re-do’s. Cost?

It would seem to me that Part 43 maintenance under Appendix A allows the owner/pilot to do this. " (9) Refinishing decorative coating of fuselage, balloon baskets, wings tail group surfaces (excluding balanced control surfaces), fairings, cowlings, landing gear, cabin, or cockpit interior when...

    Upholstery / interior re-do’s. Cost?

What about the plastic interior parts? I have a line on an older Bonanza that is mechanically sound and airworthy, but aesthetically challenged. The biggest problem I see it that a lot of the plastic bits have reached the end of their useful life, and I'm assuming that Beech has long ago...

Governor signs ban on 100LL into law

So, how long will it take before the FBOs start calling up GAMI to get their orders in for G100UL ? It does not require a huge stretch of the imagination to foresee a supply shortage resulting from a number of sites procrastinating the changeover in the hopes that the ban won't actually go into...

Another unleaded 100LL replacement approved (Swift 100R)

Sure, but when you don't have the right fuel for the control system, why would you buy? UL fuel is the catalyst required to open the door to engine controls from this century, as opposed to our current prior-century lumps.

Another unleaded 100LL replacement approved (Swift 100R)

The fact that aviation is currently 50+ years behind every other industry that uses internal combustion engines is not a reason to block progress. As an aside, it's at least been looked at in turbine applications: https://ntrs.nasa.gov/api/citations/20070010763/downloads/20070010763.pdf

It looks like 14,500 is where paragraph (j) comes into play from the table, and perhaps never for personal use planes. I may be reading it wrong, though.
